Sam after 100 posts you think you'd get the point. It's not even inconsistency between moderators, it's the fact that you would and have banned for things that you do regularly (e.g. Hate speech). Thrillho already articulated what I'm trying to say very well so I needn't bother anymore. The point is, you can't be threatening to ban or actually ban players for indiscretions you yourself are guilty of - I am sure you see the blatant conflict of interest here.


Regardless of the mental gymnastics you are pulling to fool yourself or others into thinking you or another moderator wouldn't find your behavior grounds for reprimand - the fact remains that you are only able to post and chat right now because you are an advisor. And as such nobody can reprimand you, all we can do is call you out, hold you accountable, and expect amends.

Just because E. Honda and Amber Dwyer were initially zealous in their moderation doesn't make those actions the norm, in fact they were the outliers you are now trying to hold others to simply to try to stir up shit.

I have never taken action or warned a player that was making off color remarks in jest. When I warned THRILLO he was calling another player a faggot, most likely more than once. I suggested he might want to tone it down as other moderators might find that over the line, I obviously didn't.

I appreciate what you are saying, I'm not an idiot (contrary to popular opinion). As a moderator the big picture is to keep the community running smoothly, so incidents and people have to be assessed on a case by case basis. I just think it is ridiculous to try and justify when it is / is not ok to say offensive and inflammatory things.

For example you have said it is NOT ok to call someone a nigger if they are black in real life, as they might find it offensive, but how would you know? For all you know, Jona has a down syndrome relative / friend.

I love inflammatory language. I don't want you to tone it down at all. I just think it's funny that you are trying to justify being hypocritical. Mistyped is all THRILLO, I was recalling a different situation with a different player is all, I am guessing I was thinking of trendz you can see how it would be easy to confuse you two.

Most likely when I said something to you it was because a number of players were whinning about words that were bothering them and it is easier to suggest you use to tone down the language then tell a bunch of people to fuck off and grow a thicker skin. Mea Culpa on not remembering the exact situation properly.

As for the rest, meh, I got a little more specific than I should have because I tend to judge each situation in the context that it occurs and trying to create a general example to explain my position obviously leaves lots of room to argue about it.

If Jona was truly offended, I would expect more than one line from him in this entire thread.
