Erm, could someone explain me why moderating issues are discussed publicly? On some forums even posting publicly mod messages sent to you would amount to a permaban.

Haha, so if the modding system is not optimal, no one should be able to discuss it? Get back to WW1, fascismo.

as much as i know this isn't real life, people don't stay longer in prison because they didn't learn their lesson they serve their time and leave.

now after saying that, isnt first offense 3 days? thraxle? jurgen?

When I was serious about modding and wrote my wall of text a first offense was warning, followed by 7 days, 1 month, perma.

But that was always subject to the level of the crime and the blatent disregard for the rules.

Imperfectly defined rules = imperfectly defined bans = imperfect mods

But it's the best and only system we have and it's better than having nothing in place.

I also use the 1or3 then 7 then 30 days as a base but you have to be flexible and try to have the punishment fit the crime. In case of blatant pga I tend to skip the short ban time.

I know there is some subjectivity in that system but you try to be reasonable and fair.

As far as I am concerned, veteran players do not get warnings. They all know the stakes before they decide to embark on their little voyages of venal activities. Warnings are for new players that don't know the ropes. Draconic penalties, including enforcement of my universally-loved (sarcasm intended) doctrine, are for vets who should most definitely know better.

I'm playing this game for almost three years.
The early months i was trying to undestarnd how this game works.
Everytime i sat on high table the result was the same.
I was getting mocked and dicked by a specific group of players.

The experienced ones.

By that time i was sure that wasn't only the moves that made this group
better than any other player, but it was the social base this game has.
So, i did my homework. I studied and learned from people that fitted to
my personality. Shadolin was master of trucing regardless the partner and
Louisse was the most fair player I've ever met here. Both of their skills
combined with common sense and a well trained play; on how to read a board,
and what moves to make, made me the player i am today.

The only thing i wasn't that good, is to not be so self-interested in my game.
Also lol @ the no#1 blaming me at something that got him this rank.
(my respect btw)

Months has passed, nothing has changed nor will imo, simply cause this game
is still a war game with a goddamn chatbox at the bottom!
Last days forum's malfunction intrigued me to read some old threads.
Same arguments. same shit. different persons.

Sam wasn't in my concern. I never respected any advisor that was mocking
new players telling them to go away simply cause they weren't that good.
Some people founds it cool and cute... Sorry not a fan.
In my mind an ambassador is someone who has the will to help new members,
not just to be there and ban at will. At least this is what i would like
to happen if i owned the site. Yet, none of us owns shit. We are visitors
here on our own will. I realize we stand on imperfectly defined rules and
all their consequences.

So i'm asking the mods to define me:
The gentlemen agreement rules about fair play beyond those
--http://www.kdice.com/blog/72-- and how they apply.
Do you have a unique formula when you are banning a person?
Do I have to be warned (as a player)?
Do you have to explain the reasoning?
Do you have to be specific about the duration?
If not, i think that me any other player deserves to know the powers
you possess.

ps. Sam once asked me to talk some sense to Erkan. I did it, in exchange
I had Erk feeling betrayed thinking i was taking sides. I did it for both.
Erk shows up and favors me instead of him. A Fonias is banned..

Reasoned response deserves another, yes for you it sucks you get screwed because one player refuses to play fair games. That said you garner the favor of players whether you think you do or not. As mods we are fucking tired of that shit. You learned the game from people that pushed the limit of fair play and most of the time stomped on the idea of fair games for their own benefit for that you were screwed from the start once the mods decided enough was enough.

Maybe you learn for this, maybe you just continue doing what you were doing and this all happens again some other day. For now I am going to unban you as it has been a week and your last post was a reasonable response to a situation that wasn't entirely your fault.
