Why the evolution of two sexes?
I know that it's arguably beneficial to have two sexes. But I still don't understand how/why sexual reproduction came about

and why two sexes instead of three sexes or four

would you rather have wings OR hands?
I choose the hands.

I want both. And we should have both. I also wish we kept the ability to hide like my cousins the chameleon's. Wings, hands, and chamoflouge can you say AWESOME

obviously im being facetious in this post as well as my previous. Just a couple of questions as to why we didn't keep (evolve) the best of what nature has to offer if we (Homo Sapians) are top of the chain???

in order to keep something, you have to have it first, wings (with feather) that can be used for flight takes more than 10 million years to evolve, noone in the human lineage back through history ever had the wings for flight.

we might be on the top of the food chain, but it does not mean that we are supperiorly evolved than other species. an alien might think that ant are the dominant type of life at earth, at least if you look at % of biomass and number of individuals.

also it is useful to keep in mind evolution is a blind process, it is not like it sets a goal. and every feature you can add has a cost in energy, food requirements (as to types), risk of missformity, damage to and cancer.

you might think wings would be cool, but if humans had wings, we would not have hands, and therefore we would just be like other animals. the reason for only 4 limps is that it is more energy efficient than 6.

ALSO I want to say that evolution is a tree, NOT a ladder, often evolution will remove features that cost more than it benefits.

"beak of the finch" is a good read concerning evolution imo.

Also, evolution is not an uphill process. It is a downhill process. But it doesn't slow down because we are not a closed system. We are getting additional energy from the sun.

same question is why are we here....two atoms collided and created the universe, equal measure and sustainability were required to spawn life on a planet called earth, in which humans, a male and a female population, procreate and extend the livelihood of their species. Having a third gender would slow down the evolution process. Humans are not the only species that requires pairing...plants(male-female), positive-negative charges...

Top of the chain.... I don't know.

Concerning the food-loop, it isn't really a chain as we get recycled when deceased, we are in there. And we can eat most other creatures when armed - without arms we are eaten by many.

Other than that, we are severely vulnerable to many very small beings (bacteria, virus, even smaller) - is that top of the list? And these natural enemies of ours are by no means losing ground, they might be gaining.

For the ants - what what about fungi? They grow bigger, live longer, survive more catastrophies...

We are just in there.

I usually don't initIally share my thoughts on creation myths, or evolution bc I dont like to sway how people respond to my questions. So I generally wont come out the gate and state my own thoughts on things. But now, I will say that I am a creationist, but not in the sense that everyone thinks...
I think that all these events that have probably transpired, i.e. evolution, big bang, etc. could have been guided by a force that we will probably never understand
do I think that Adam and Eve were the first beings created?...um yeah right. Do I think that man was created in the image of God? ...no way. Do I think we share a common ancestor with apes?...sure. do I think the earth was created in 7/24 hour days? Nope. But I also don't think any of those things are relevant to my personal salvation, or lack thereof.
One thing I will do...
I will save the date! 5/21! The day of the apocalypse/rapture

just in case, you know? :)
