Someone please explain how "I never attack my friends" isn't him attempting to pga with all of them...and why he shouldn't receive a temporary ban for it.

I like murti, but this seems over the line to me. However, I'm willing to entertain discussion before I jump the gun.

i hope the mods feel more open to the idea of banning (temporarily) some of the older players for when their otfs tend closer to pga. i think if any noobs have read the forums recently, they would be inspired. keep up the good work mods!

I think, he was rather trying to tell that he wont attack those first whom he trusts. But thats exactly what everybody else would say regarding silent trucing and stuff.

I won't ban Murti for I fear my child's life may be in jeopardy if I do. He is my first born and I love him dearly.

However, I do agree that Murti's post is a bit troubling and over the top OTF. I'm hoping it was simply a translation issue, but it appeared to be pretty clear. Despite this fact, no evidence has been brought to the table to support a ban. Perhaps some invisiwatching is in order Jurgz?

Him stating that he never attacks friends is fairly concrete evidence in my book. We've banned other players based on self-confirmation before.

To me its no different than leek saying he doesnt attack his neighbors. Plus maybe there is a bit lost in the turk -> english translation. he does allude to it being a strategy which you have to agree with. If you know how someone (maybe not necessarily a friend but a familiar name) will play, from months or years of sitting with them, then you should be allowed to use this knowledge to your benefit. Somebody once said "knowing is half the battle" and maybe murti just couldnt put that into english.

Murti is the line in the sand between OTF and PGA in my book. Murti doesn't attack people he "knows", and it doesn't take more then a couple games to be someone he "knows", other then to connect and build a base. He will almost always be a nice neighbor to other players that aren't aggressive towards him.

I imagine this style is more common with none-native English speakers on the higher tables as it saves trying to parse the nuance of a fast moving chat box.

I think if I watched Murti play a game with certain players I might be inclined to think temp-bans were in order.

Murti, you might want to be a little more aggressive though ;-)
