is like a millionaire playing a 1$ blind poker cash game. It's unfair, it's a waste of time, it's unreasonable.

Discuss.

Played enough high games to see that the only difficulty in them is to avoid screwing your pga partners, especially in rounds 1 and 2.

Don't even dare to compare yourself to basketball legends. Especially with your shiny award, which you HAD to receive by some hard pga and point funneling (or others would've funneled someone else and you wouldn't have been 1st). 1st place has been funneled for like two years by now, the very obvious proof (in case you're suspicious) is that 1st always beats second by a landslide, and scores of top 3 are almost as big as scores of players 4-25.

Except of couple really skilled players, your skills really "shine" at the beginning of each month, especially if you don't have the boost. Each time I play a "pro" player with 5 randoms, he doesn't perform half as well as by sitting with 2-3 friends. Then again, I've heard that some lose a lot of early games intentionally to avoid suspicious stats which point funneling would cause, dunno if it's true, but that surely makes sense.

Anyway, this is the same as saying that almost all politicians are liars. Politicians always deny it, but people know the truth anyway.

Chloe, I won't bother replaying to your post, probably because this argument is pointless. All I say is, once again, "IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE 2000/5000 TABLES ARE UNFAIR, JUST TEST IT!". As simple as that. Someone's words are poor arguments, real games on high tables are solid proof.

And in case, you're really naive, I suggest

1. Make another account.
2. Gather 2k/5k (shouldn't be hard)
3. Join any high table without saying/showing who you are.
4. Enjoy
5. Rinse and repeat 1-4 till you are convinced.

If it was just a matter of luck and knowing probability then the people who know more about dice probability would have high percent finishes of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd as opposed to 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th. So even if there were no such skills as diplomacy, reading the board, knowing player tendencies, manipulation and the ability to read truces (silent or otherwise), there would still be skill involved in this game.

Being able to truce someone with chat or without chat is a big part of the game but an equally important part of playing 2k and 5k is being able to understand when other players do the same. My understanding from what you have written is that you are very deficient in that latter skill and as a consequence lose to these alliances you never foresaw.

My advice to you is to pay attention to the moves of the players around you and even those that aren't because ultimately that's how you will foresee your demise and give yourself the opportunity to stop it -- either by calling other players out for not attacking each other (meaning they are truced or PGA) or by disabling your greatest threat by trucing them. PGA is something you usually don't call into question until you've noticed a repetition of trucing between a group of players regardless of start and position, that is to say certain players always truce despite them not starting anywhere near each other on the board.

PS. mo, you are saying stupid things now. A single game MAY be luck, but a bunch of them allows your skill to show. KDice is not all luck, claiming that would be unwise, especially when 33% or more of the game is diplomacy, which is hardly related to luck.

i am saying to get connected is luck the only dice that u can be sure wins is an 8stack vs 1stack...every other 1 has a chance to lose...so thats luck..i didnt mention diplomacy..there are certain aspects of the game where quick thinking is involved but wouldnt call that a skill

boner, those caps make no sense. you increased those for 0s, 100s stayed the same, and the others are way too high still. plus, who ever has more than 250.000 points?

caps should be:

0: 500
100: 2000
500: 5000
2000: 50000
5000: unlimited

Where have you heard this? The only time I hear about people losing early games intentionally is when you are at 0 points and 4th-7th are the same value.

"IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE 2000/5000 TABLES ARE UNFAIR, JUST TEST IT!".
As I said, I do play, and my experience is that the tables are not unfair. This is not to say that they are not difficult.

mo chara, electing to connect in itself is skill. Yes, you could fail, but that part is luck. Both pieces are part of kdice, just as they are both part of risk. Would you argue that risk is a game of luck, not a game of skill?

Reminder, I'm glad you brought up that last point. If you're not familiar with me, I go by Veta on these boards. Why Veta you may ask? Well that's one account of maybe 20 that I have used in the last 2 years. Every so often I use a new account to play on the 2k/5k tables, there are a variety of reasons for this but the biggest one is that I like the advantaged luck that new accounts generally have.

So yes, I have made a new account, won a freeroll or 100 nightly and then played 5k the next day. Do you know who won the majority of those games? I did. Not because I knew any of the players in particular (I usually take 3-6 months breaks from this game at a time, and by that time there's a lot of new faces) but because I was just that much better at identifying those who have truced, those who are willing to truce, and how to manipulate everyone else into letting me win. It's a matter of skill.

If you'd like to witness this in action I will make a new account with you, share it or whatever you want. And then get it into a 5k game. If I am right about skill I will do rather well and place 1st-3rd more than 50% of the time. If I am wrong I will get ousted out of my proper place every game until I am offered a PGA, right? However, if I am right and win as I have outlined, I will further challenge you to play said account and try to repeat the results I garnered. If you fail to do well after I have it is proof that you are not as "skilled" at KDice as other people.

I will cede to you knowing the right move to make in every situation is usually not that difficult to surmise, but I'm willing to bet you don't even do that just by how unintelligent you seem.
