Thoughts on new kdice

Lets discuss the new kdice version.
I'll try to get it out for Jan 1 with some changes: - the look will be closer to the current kdice. - the chat box will be put back to normal. I'm hoping to leave the flagging change in since it helps solve the problem with the last player not wanting to flag (this happens because last knows that others can flag for last and waits for that). The flagging is more like the old flagging but without the ninja flag problem. The strategy with the new flagging is that you can flag to single to a stronger player that you're not a threat. You're flagged at your current position, for example 2nd, and you can't place better. You'll be automatically knocked out when in this case there are only 2 players left. This also means the player in 3rd knows that you can't flag for third and will more likely opt to flag. Consequently, the player in first will attack 3rd knowing that 2nd isn't a threat. And since point farming is gone there is no motivation to attack second. Thoughts? |

int: The truce you're talking about is a great part of the game and i don't think its a bad thing if this is strengthened. Especially if it's a more powerful strategy than PGA. This in -game truce determination is definitely a good thing. |

I rather prefer the Dec 1st type of chat box where the newest line was put at the top of the box. It's a good feature if you happen to be playing on a lower resolution monitor, or have a reduced size browser window and still want to follow the chat without having to scroll up and down on the page. Also, I know this is an old request but I'm going to repeat it, occasionally there are instances where a stack of dice occludes the map behind it in a way that it is not possible to tell what territories are connected to what. Can this be easily fixed? |

at 2:54 AM, Thursday December 20, 2007 EST So if I understand it correctly when I flag for 3rd I say this way that 1st and 2nd players don't need to attack me because I have no reason to attack them? And as soon as there are only 3 of us left I automatically leave the game, right? How is the dom for flagged players counted?

at 7:33 AM, Thursday December 20, 2007 EST i like the new flag system,. plus the dom adjustment (you cannot farm because you only get points to the max of your domination), point farmers will history.......
i like the old chat box...... instead of adding a private chat or whatever, i think time and resources would be better spent if we install a 'report abuse' feature....to report PGA, racist/offensive/abusive chat/forum post, etc. also, can we have a 100 table.....the jump from 10 to 250 is quite a gap..... |

ryan has infact already 'installed' a report abuse feature. which is great. now we can all report you. ryan, i strongly suggest adding a 'just generally obnoxious' category to the abuse report. |
