What do YOU think flagging means?

i was having a little discussion about this with some other players. someone attacked while he was flagged, I said this wasn't very honourable, someone else disagreed :p
So what does flagging mean to you?

-Do you surrender to the biggest guy, but still attack others to secure your position?

-Does it mean you stop fighting completely, being happy with the lands you have, waiting until the game is over, and in return want others to stop attacking you aswell?

-does it mean you'll keep on fighting as if your flag wasn't there, playing until everyone is dead/flagged?

-Does it mean you'll sit there, making others believe you are harmless, then when you maxed out your reserves, suddenly attack multiple times and take the lead?

-...

If you'll all post what you think flagging means, maybe we can come up with a definite meaning for it, kind of like a Geneva convention for Kdice :p

I have flaged turned it around and won first before, I dont think flaging should means surrender, that may have been the creators original intention, but that isn't what it has become; im ok with flaged people attacking keeps things interesting

I'll have to agree with : Lothros, Critical Dog, Axio, and Xerxes855 on this one.

"Isn't that what truces are for?

And how is what you did any different than a 1/2 truce?"

Because I'm almost never in second place when that happens.

If I'm in second, and it's a close second, I will almost always make the bid for 1st. But if I'm 3rd, and have the ability to fight for second, I'm hoping to do so.

I guess, in a way, it's sort of a revolving 1/2 truce, of sorts.

A flag means nothing. I may or may not respect it, depending on my mood. I shall strip your lands of dice and plant crops for next year's harvest.

we expect the fallow fields to be ready for cultivation, I like carvel ice cream.

This post has jumped the shark, imo.

@ fazer, I'm not trying to truce with everyone, I just get upset when, I'm saying " Hey, I flagged, I'm fine if we end, and I get the points I deserve for my current territories." Now, there are other, unflagged people, who mean business, and are still willing to attack, and be attacked back. Notice anything wrong with attack the person who WON't jeopardize your score?

ive had countless games where someone flags and concedes and quits and begs for my mercy and I grant it to finish off others

then it lasts a little longer to mop up the rest and meanwhile a little 3 land empire has +32, attacks and strips me of my place

happen only to me? no, ive seen it often

fact of the matter is this - the war is ongoing until it is over

Well, I will say that, it is unavoidable. Do you a) attack all those around, even when it is an "unethical case" in the game (however, we still have yet to figure it out, as of now), or, b) respect a common language that shows they are in your complete will as a leader, and fight those who aren't showing fealty?
