What do YOU think flagging means?

i was having a little discussion about this with some other players. someone attacked while he was flagged, I said this wasn't very honourable, someone else disagreed :p
So what does flagging mean to you? -Do you surrender to the biggest guy, but still attack others to secure your position? -Does it mean you stop fighting completely, being happy with the lands you have, waiting until the game is over, and in return want others to stop attacking you aswell? -does it mean you'll keep on fighting as if your flag wasn't there, playing until everyone is dead/flagged? -Does it mean you'll sit there, making others believe you are harmless, then when you maxed out your reserves, suddenly attack multiple times and take the lead? -... If you'll all post what you think flagging means, maybe we can come up with a definite meaning for it, kind of like a Geneva convention for Kdice :p |

at 6:40 PM, Friday April 20, 2007 EDT Another point about flagging... I flagg, if I don´t think that there´s still a chance to win this game anymore. So in this case I flagg to the leader or to an ally, so he won´t lose 2nd or 3rd place.
Generally I try to avoid attacking other weak player, if it´s not necessary to stabilize the own position. I attack them only, if they start to attack me. Of course this strategy don´t work, if I´m the leader, but in this case I attack normally this player, who´s the biggest danger to me... So I expect from the leader, that he don´t attack me anymore, if I signal him, that I´m no danger to him anymore (of course he may attack me, if he need my territories cause of strategic reasons). If he continue attacking me, I feel free to defense and reattack him. And of course I won´t forget it, and it´s bad for his reputation! |

at 2:35 AM, Saturday April 21, 2007 EDT It means you surrender to #1 and are content with your current position. That means #1 is secure and doesn't need to attack you to secure his position. Attacking others besides #1 is ok though.

at 8:30 PM, Saturday April 21, 2007 EDT If someone's got one territory, is obviously losing and they flag, then they think they can scam a second place, just because they flagged, they're insane.
It bothers me when I see people asking not to be attacked when they're flagged. Personally, it's a sign you've given up, not a sign of peace. I'm wondering if the fact that the flag is a white flag is causing some of the varying interpretations of what flagging means. In my world, if you're flagging and the game isn't about to end, it's an invite to be mashed. |

Yes it does, I sugessted already replacing it with the racing "goal" flag. |

at 5:49 PM, Sunday April 22, 2007 EDT I flag b/c I don't want to screw up the rest of my game, and I feel fine if the game ended. I really think it's okay to attack to secure your position, since you were fine and flagged a minute ago, but, if you lost a territory, then, you lost points!
I get upset, when, I am flagged, to be avoided, and while there are other, still willing to play people to be attacked, I am the one to be fought with. I don't want to play anymore, and I'm done, so , don't attack me? |

So you're trying to truce with everyone? Some people might turn your offer down... |
