"extreme moderation" is an oxymoron

Also good job actually responding to the substance of my argument. Oh wait you didn't because you can't because you're wrong. Kill yourself.

Flexing those debate muscles again I see. Absolutes like "kill yourself" are always helpful when debating.

Thraxle if I wanted to hear some conservative bullshit or general ignorance of your own country's history, I'd ask you your opinion. But since I actually have a working knowledge of American history and since I'm not an a-moral turd, I'll pass on your judgment, thanks, kill yourself.

Sorry that you do not know what an oxymoron is.

The "substance" of your argument refers to a mythical nutritional consensus which you do not cite.

Ya Basta is dumb for arguing in that way and not providing sources but he's entirely right -- and his stance specifically on red meat may not be extreme enough. There absolutely is a consensus that certain types of red meat WILL raise cholesterol levels because they are so rich in saturated fats. The American Cancer Society also says that red meat will increase your risk of colorectal cancer by a "moderate" amount.

However, the Harvard School of Public Health recently did a study involving 110,000 people over more than 20 years that showed that any type of red meat will increase your risk of death by 13%, and that's simply by adding 3 ounces of red meat to your daily diet. Hot dogs and processed meat were even worse, they raise your risk of death during the study by 20%.

Contrast this with other protein-rich food sources: a serving of nuts, chicken, legumes, and fish were found to lower your risk of dying (against a control group of course, these folks at Harvard do generally know what they're doing) by 19%, 14%, 10%, and 7% respectively.

So yeah, Ya Basta is right but in the wrong way, if that makes any sense. There really IS a consensus that red meat is bad for you and generally you shouldn't eat it whatsoever but if you do, do so in moderation.

This is also ignoring the amount of food that goes into feeding cattle. The vast majority of grains and corn in this country go toward feeding cattle while poor people starve.
