...gets you 21 years in prison. I guess that's the humane thing to do, right?

Sam, do not talk about what Americans care or do not care about. Your stupid comment only represents yourself...

yah herv cause your av is real mature lmao.

a person is a person no matter how small so no killing shit though i wish sometimes lol. also im in for labor camps. make them work for their meals like the rest of us do. also i think the whole free education is bullshit.

if you dont have to work for it you dont learn imo.

i really just wish we could send them to an island like the old days. you dont deserve to be a part of our country anymore go fight the wild for your life. but thats not deemed civil anymore either lol.

Without repeating my last posts arguments, which in my view still hold, has any of you really thought about the total cost of ownership of labor camps?

You'd have to supervise these, avoid that inmates arm themselves or prepare escapes and so on. In order to get a revenue from it, they'd have to to qualified work. It is not a given thing that lifelong prisoners love society, thus you don't want them to program your car's electronics or alike. You'll have to double check the products. Furthermore they might not be qualified enough, you'd have to educate them. Last thing is that they might not be motivated which will result in not useful output. As a civilized society you can't have them starve or kill themselves (deathpenalty was not possible befor, why should it be this way around). So work or no food is not an option.

Finding a job they can do to pay for the additional supervision and quality control and make a plus in the end will be tough.

Alltogether, it is probably cheaper to just lock them away and leave them in the cell. In addition, the boredom and sense of uselessness is most likely a major part of the punishment.

Guys we need to evolve and start incentivising people to not work and commit crimes to get free meals and shelter and showers for the rest of their lives.
