I'm glad Zimmerman was released on Bond. He turned himself in voluntarily the first time instead of running away, supporting that he isn't a flight risk. Just because there's high media coverage and outrage on something doesn't mean someone is necessarily guilty of what they're charged. Maybe he's guilty, and the trial will determine it, but I'm glad to see constitutional rights being protected. #MERICA!!!!!!

I do trust americans, but my response was also in comment to the incident in baltimore.

also, I have seen some media coverage from USA, but I didn't catch that it was a gated community. And if I didn't catch it, there might be many others who didn't catch it. I was commenting more on the higher level of fear people in america feel from strangers than in europe. Americans automatically think strangers are a higher threat, which again will lead to people becoming more "jumpy" which means that people are again a higher threat to each other. This is one of the old arguments for gun control. Studies show that if you are looking at a picture of a person, and give a rating on how intimidating you think he/she is, then if you hold a gun in your own hands you automatically give a higher threat rating.

All I am saying is that these stand your ground laws are backfiring, both zimmerman and trayvon might have been able to claim selfdefence under the law in this situation.
