It said 15% when I read it.....oh well.

I wasn't including medicare in my math the last post. It is listed separately. But it does include grants to states for Medicaid, so point taken.

You get mad when I don't back up my answers with data and then you say I'm arguing semantics when I do back it up with data. You are a typical politician Veta. Whatever I say you try to twist it to make it sound good for your point-of-view.

Actually last month jobs increased roughly 200k, yet the unemployment rate stayed the same because of the inverse of what you're talking about. People were getting discouraged and stopped trying to find jobs, but the job growth over the past year is starting to get them applying again so the workforce is growing. So we increased employment, but people came back into the workforce so any drop in unemployment was offset by an increase in unemployment from people re-entering the workforce. Also you will find there is going to be a decrease in people in the workforce as a whole anyways as the baby boomers start retiring.

good point kehoe, it's actually why I linked specifically to the U6 stats republicans love to reference (really any minority party likes the U6 stat), as opposed to the official unemployment stat.

here it is again:
http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.t15.htm

showing a decrease since its peak at 20% and since obama took office.

President Obama "is not concerned" that he will be blamed for high gas prices, not with standing Obama's recent comment that he doesn't want high gas prices in an election year. Its all about being in office the President can do little in the short term to effect the price of fuel...

Thrax, you're absurd (as usual). Obama has got a pass on nothing. The Republicans have more or less decided they'd rather tank the US then allow Obama to govern. They've refused compromise, blocked legislation, and distorted everything about Obama. If he shows tradition and bows to the emporer of Japan, and he's disgracing the USl; he saves the US auto industry, and he's making the US socialist. Over and over the Republicans distort the truth and are frustrated that the rest of the country isn't stupid enough to listen to their antics.

Face facts, Bush started wars he didn't need to, he completely blew up the budget (btw Bush's deficit was as large as Obama's), and he completely shredded the constitution. Your team is nothing but Christian's who want to rewrite history and dupe the country into believing that they are minority who isn't trying to dictate the one true religion.

Are you kidding me? Barry gets a pass on EVERYTHING unless you're watching FoxNews. And I'm pretty sure Republicans are a minority at this point, perhaps I'm wrong. By the way, are you happy that Bush's fiscally irresponsible self increased the deficit in 8 years by as much as Obama has in 4, with Obama's own budget outlooks showing the deficit only increasing for the next few years?

People like you chastised Bush for his spending yet support Obama for doing the same thing or worse. THAT is the free pass I'm talking about. THAT is the hypocrisy I speak of and I am not absurd in saying it.

I might be wrong about this, but didn't Bush blow up the deficit during a time of economic prosperity? You know... with tons of corporate welfare and kickbacks to his friends?

Every increase in social spending under Obama has been either a direct or indirect result of the ravaged economy/foreign relations that were inherited from Bush. Economy is shit? Well of course welfare spending is going to rise - barring a substantial reduction in welfare/unemployment benefits, which I might add we already paid into as a society. We're knee deep in two wars? Well of course we're going to have to spend money to wrap them up (as opposed to indefinite intervention like what McCain suggested and which would ultimately cost much much more).

I find it ironic you say Obama gets a pass from everyone except the mainstream media - and by mainstream media I mean the News Networks with the highest ratings (Fox, CNN). So I don't understand, are you upset that the mainstream news has an agenda or that the non-mainstream media doesn't share that same agenda? Clarification would be much appreciated.

You know what Bush's greatest regret during his presidency was, according to him, it was that Kanye West didn't like him. Shit you not, how do you defend this guy?

When do I defend Bush? I simply compare his to Obama, which according to many of you is fair, but point out that Bush received criticism for things that Obama does not.

And my statement said Obama gets a pass for everyone except FoxNews. Yes, I know they all have an agenda, most of them leaning left. Obama is about to intervene in Iran (most likely). If a 2-4 year war ensues, do you think he'll receive similar criticism as Bush did, or will he get a free pass because, you know, Obama is doing it because it's the "right thing to do".
