Yeah, I think that luck is calculated on a roll by roll basis; which is stupid because that isn't what humans think as luck.

When a human rolls the dice he doesn't think that winning a 8v2 as being good luck. However if you rolled a high 8 dice roll and he rolled a low 2 dice roll, kdice would count it as good luck.

For a human that is just normal luck. Losing a 8v2 is terrible luck. Winning an 8v2 is nothing.

The point is that considering the dice roll is irrelevant to humans. When calculating luck you should only consider the difference in dice. 8v8 win is good luck; 8v8 lose is slightly bad luck. 8v7 loss is bad luck. 7v8 win is very good luck. etc. Forget the dice rolls; that is irrelevant.

a game with 40% luck and one with 60% luck will only average out to 50% if exactly the same number of roll were made in both games

* veta is right about the reason the avg luck is around 49,2 -49,3%: The entire kdice community combined attacks more than it defends because greys can't fight back. Attacking has a disadvantage because of ties going to the defender.

* deadcode is patially right about a crude avg not meaning a lot. Then again combining "good luck on roll 1", "very good luck on roll 2", etc...seems even harder

Luck could be much better evaluated if we had extra parameters such as : "8v8 or XvX luck"; "cut or uncut success rate"; "round 1,2 and 3 luck"; average dice rolled (maybe an additional one for early rounds only)

Whether you win the 8v2 48 vs 2 or win it 13 vs 12, KDice will count it as the same luck

PS: both 8v2 wins would give you a 49,999172% luck that will be added to the avg so such a roll will not impact your luck avg at all

Hmm did not know that Jurgen. The luck percentages are definitely screwy though; I'm not sure they really make any sense in terms of how humans think of luck.
