RP has just started attacking Santorum in ads. His ads had a huge effect on Gingrich; let's see how this one affects Santorum's support in NH.

Would be better off attacking Romney, Santorum will take care of himself being that he is a disgusting corrupt hate monger.

Possibly; but RP seems to have a strategy centered around separating himself and Romney as the top 2. Personally I have no idea why; but his team seems to be pretty dang smart so I guess I just have to wait and see how it plays out.

it's my opinion; formed from observation

obviously he isn't going to make his strategy public; so we can only observe and form opinions based on that

He has been speaking a lot about how he believes that's it will become a 1/2 race; between him and Romney. Santorum doesn't have the money or the organization to compete in all the states. Only Romney and RP currently have the cash and the campaign staff necessary to compete till the end. All the other candidates are way behind in this context.

"The Paul campaign said today that it raised $13 million in the fourth quarter of 2011, a total only Romney is expected to exceed. The former Massachusetts governor’s campaign said he brought in $20 million in the final months of 2011."

"The reason Rick Santorum did so well in Iowa was because he moved his family there and camped out for most of the year, but he does not have a national infrastructure," said Florida Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam, chairman of Romney's Florida campaign. "Romney's in a great spot. He'll come out of the first two early states potentially as the first guy ever to win both, and he will have tremendous momentum as he moves south."

I believe the strategy is probably to attack Santorum with ads while he lacks the money to respond very well to them.

This would make the race basically a 1/2 RP+Romney slug-fest unless another candidate can get their act together.

Neither Romney or RP will be able to land a knockout blow on each other; because of the vast amounts of money and organization they have. It is probably very similar to a 1/2 in KDice. Use your lead to break away from the pact and ensure yourself a good chance at 1st.
