at 9:41 AM, Thursday January 12, 2012 EST yeah yeah yeah that's a cute way of framing what you said, but not exactly accurate.
It's not like you come on and said "Well I believe this this and this" about your faith or lack thereof. Instead you chose a direct belittling of someone else's (monte/me/whoever) faith/beliefs. No one's going to be upset by your espousing your beliefs - but that wasn't what you were doing. Maybe drop this weakass cover lest you find yourself to be the one with the wadded panties. |

Though I'll continue to respond to your trolling my initials the same way I always have. |

at 9:52 AM, Thursday January 12, 2012 EST dead has a valid point, and i dont take offense from it. i could definitely be wrong, and i accept that possibility. hell, even the bible defines faith as the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. i would argue that no matter what you believe, theistic, atheistic, you have a level of faith in what you are believing.
one of the apostle pauls more vulnerable statements: "If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men." |

at 10:12 AM, Thursday January 12, 2012 EST As a nerd myself; I have no problem with Trekkies and StarWars fans.
JPC; aren't in a way saying that "Oh all that Trekkie and StarWars stuff is beneath me and comparing it to me is offensive." In other words; you are belittling StarWars and Trek fans. Then you turn around and claim that your belief system / interests are some how superior and require protection of others again belittlement. In fact; those that belittle you must be shouted down immediately. I see a bit of hypocrisy there. I know in your mind the Bible is incomparable to StarWars; but I can find you people who say otherwise. All I'm saying is; get some thicker skin and if you are going to have faith in something don't be so defensive about it. If someone wants to discuss it or belittle it; just take it in stride; I mean you believe that you are right, right? Don't you...? |
