at 8:55 AM, Thursday January 12, 2012 EST I'm just saying I don't see how God has a hand in Presidential Elections anymore than he does in Tim Tebow winning football games or my Grandmother getting cancer.
If he has a hand in all of the above, then he's a pretty shitty malevolent deity. But if he picks and chooses...then where's the line? |

at 9:17 AM, Thursday January 12, 2012 EST okay, googled a random page, not sure if i trust this guy, but he had a good overarching point which was:
So, When is it right to rebel against authority? Only when that authority prevents you from obeying God's authority. one of his examples was less so political, moreso spiritual, which was that the ruling pharisees ordered the early christians to stop spreading the new gospel schtick. but they obv didnt stop, because the whole proselytizing was a direct command from jesus on his way out. so then it was okay to rebel against authority. which is sorta interesting, because the romans didnt exactly have the best working relationship with the jewish/christian community, since periodic rebellions were to be expected. jesus/paul/whoever didnt say to fuck augustus or nero or whichever emperor was to come in a political sense. but take the persecutions in stride and, in a way, use them as a method to further the message about the good news (yay, im being boiled in oil, you should believe what i believe!) |

at 9:35 AM, Thursday January 12, 2012 EST Oh; btw; what I said I certainly a valid possibility. I mean it is called faith right? So it is based on a belief that something is true rather then facts. So why am I somehow committing a personal attack if I remind those that there is a possibility they are wrong; and that the scenario I painted is correct.
If that is belittling to you; then you need to get your panties un-twisted before participating on the big boy tables; because it pisses me off when theists can talk their opinions all day; but as soon as an atheist speaks; its OMG STOP BEING MEAN! |
