im planning on voting in a primary for the first time ever. and you better believe im dragging my wife to the polls too.

its fun to watch his speech not because of the taglines he says, but the conviction/emotion with which he says them.

ron paul. i said a year or two back in one of the old veta/thrax demo/repub megathreads that i would vote for whomever wanted to run a balanced budget, and wanted to correct for the overspending while in deficit. over the past decade, ive realized that i cant trust the bush administration to do that, and i cant trust the obama administration to do that. (clinton did pretty well, and i liked him for that.)

it just so happens that ron paul believes in those ideals and over the primary cycle thus far, ive grown to trust his conviction more and more.

balancing the budget in times of economic crisis? you realize that's counter intuitive right?

also what has obama done regarding the deficit that you disagree with?

do you feel he hasn't done enough? or did you forget the shit show that republicans turned every deficit discussion into. obama needs to raise taxes on the rich like clinton did but the obstructionist GOP will never let him get a win.

since youre avoiding the meat of what i say, and extrapolating to ludicrous levels, i will counter with the same.

im naive insomuch that i treat macroeconomics just like i treat my personal finances. if i have run up massive credit, i dont argue that i should increase the budget for next year. i cut back on what im spending on. if people come along and say that its economically smart to increase our budget during these trying times, i want to know who is paying these people.

Yeah I completely agree. I really do enjoy seeing someone speak from their heart.
