at 3:57 PM, Tuesday December 20, 2011 EST How does that make as much sense? Why do we hold driving on the road to a higher standard than electing the officials that shape our city/county/state/country?

Just to give some perspective ;-) |

at 6:36 PM, Tuesday December 20, 2011 EST This is all going back to the idea that a country needs a polity of philosophers in order to have an effectively run democracy.
Sure it would be nice if all voters had some sort of idea of what the issues are and what the problems are that face this country now and in the future, but let's be honest, that is not possible in this version of reality. A person is smart, but people are dumb, angry, stupid animals. The best we could hope for is to try and create the best education system possible in order to somehow 'tame the beast.' |

at 6:40 PM, Tuesday December 20, 2011 EST Now what I could be behind is an open forum political quiz for all elected officials. THAT would be good television. Instead of having them debate amongst themselves, compile a list of questions from the American people/interest groups and have them thrown into a big bank and categorized.

I would...and I did not know about this, and now that I do, I am against Obama. There's no reason for BS like this. Thrax I appreciate your consistency...even if you are consistently wrong. |

at 10:44 PM, Tuesday December 20, 2011 EST Btw; this bill was overwhelmingly passed by both Republicans AND Democrats.
F'ing McCain was the spearhead of this whole thing. That rat bastard. See this is why I didn't vote for that fool. Obama; said he'd veto it; before he decided to not veto it; and instead SIGN IT. This is what takes the cake; a group of congressman; tried to amend the bill to add in a disclaimer that explicitly disallowed detaining US citizens without due process. AND it was overwhelmingly voted down! |

Besides... you don't actually think Obama is the real president do you?? |
