For example:

Recency effect – the greater ease of recall of items at the end of a sequence compared to items earlier in the sequence.

Or this...

Self-serving bias - perceiving oneself responsible for desirable outcomes but not responsible for undesirable ones.

Actually this is the best one for this situation:

Negativity bias: the tendency to pay more attention and give more weight to negative than positive experiences or other kinds of information.

It's well known by many players that there are players who can bombard your net and ping you out of a game. The mods do nothing and people like Deadcode discredit it for whatever reason.

The fact remains it exists.

All I'm saying is that you guys are jumping to conclusions based on little to no knowledge of how things actually work.

In this case it's possible. I don't know enough about coding.

However there have been many documented cases of people "lagging out" and all of a sudden they magically have net immediately after they die or a round later.

There used to be a mod who gave out IP's to a select group of people to ping there enemies. That player isn't a mod anymore so I wont bring their name into it, but the players who received this help are still playing...

Also there is a script for random players to see everyone's IP either in the chat room or playing. Don't ask me to show it to you because I'm not in the elite but I've seen players talking about it from time to time when they don't think anyone who has half a brain is around.

Go ahead and say I'm paranoid. That's what they said about Churchill and many many others.

Yodel; I'm just trying to help you out. I do happen to know a lot about this topic.

My expert opinion is that your are paranoid. I lag out sometimes too. It isn't because of being pinged; it is quite simply short outages by the ISP itself; or issues related to your local network traffic.

If you suspect you are being pinged into submission; why don't you open your system diagnostics while you are playing the game and watch your incoming traffic.

Being completely honest; as an engineer; I find it very unlikely that someone is using ping bombing as a method of winning kdice games. Prank on a friend; maybe. Winning games vs random people; your paranoid.

And btw; your rumor about there being a script that allows people to randomly see people's IPs. It's not possible. Period.

The client (browser) is never told the IPs of other computers on the kdice network. This information never leaves the server.

In order for someone to get your IP they need to get you to click on a link; connect to their computer on aim or something related; or have you install something on your computer; like an add-on.

If you aren't doing any of the above. Then you can rest assured that no one but the KDice admins knows your IP.

Btw; as a test I will gladly show you my IP and let you try to ping me out of a game; if you'd like. I predict that it will not work.

Or if you want; you can tell me your IP and I can try with all my might to ping you to death. Who knows maybe I succeed and you can see what it looks like on your system diagnostics so you know what to look for when this phantom attacker attacks you again.

Anyway; those are my methods for helping you put a rest to this.

for a "pingbomb" to work, the bomber would have to have enough computers attacking the ISP to bring it down. this is QUITE illegal, would get the NSA involved, and the "bomber" would have to bring down the entire ISP (i.e. everyone with Comcast/RCN/FiOS would be affected-- not just 1 person's connection to 1 website).

It's quite easy and legal to ping-- it's quite a different story to generate enough traffic to block a connection...
