set a maximum for how much money can be used in a political campaign, and cap how much an individual can give, and stop every thing that is not an adult person from giving.

-Eliminate corporate campaign donations.
-Eliminate lobbyists.
-Cap contributions OR cap the amount of contributions that can be used by a candidate and send the rest directly to charity/welfare/education....whatever
-Publish every single tax return for every Congressman, the President, the Vice President, the Supreme Court Justices, etc. etc. and have those mother fuckers get audited by the IRS EVERY YEAR they hold office.

and while we're at it...

-Cap the number of terms a Congressman can hold office (no more than 8-12 years)
-Cap the number of years a judge can hold a seat on the Supreme Court (no more than 16 years)
-Destroy the electoral system and go to a straight popular vote

anyways, the idea was that the leaders of the community should not be paid, should be shut away from society during their terms. and taken away from their families during their terms.

the idea was that therefore no one would become a leader for glory/worship. or for money. but only because they truly love the people and want what is best for them. i think maybe they were allowed to see their families once a week or something?

federal financing of each candidate with enough signatures for polling could be an idea. and then if you accept the federal money (not too much money), you would not be able to add any personal money, but could still recieve donations.

maybe like 10K for each congressman, 20K for each senator
30K for each presidential candidate
still providing they didn't use any of their own money.

one could also make it illegal for anyone EXCEPT people running against someone to make attackads.
basically eliminate any way for any person to use more than the capped amount


while we are at it, cap how much money you can use at lawyers in a trail.

I like most of what Thraxle said except about term limits for Federal court judges, that would create too much litigation as the nature of the court would change too often.

16 years happens to be the average tenure of a Supreme Court Justice, I'd simply be eliminating the lifers that get appointed for 30+ years.

you dont have to eliminate lobbyism. it just has to be public and transparent. lobbys can be good, since they provide experts.
