The usual post, plus rankings:
Just say so if you'd like to join. If you have any questions about calculations or anything, just ask, and I'll happily answer. Suggestions are also always welcome and listened to. In fact! Monte recently suggested normalising the percentage profiles so everyone is on even footing- since not everyone's percentage profiles add to the same number. It's a small change, but it's an important one in my opinion.

An average of 35 games per month are required, so your current total needs to be at least 385 games in order to participate. The TAZD* game bonus cap is 200 games per month- so, right now, it's 2200 games.

Unless someone specifically requests otherwise, I'll also include everyone in the yearly TAZD. So far, I've included everyone with sufficient games that joined up to June. I'll add in the later entries soon. If you'd like to be removed, just say so, and I'll take you out no questions asked.

CURRENT LEADERS:
TAZD*: grandgnu, olkainry38, 1st.skyler
ASRm: olkainry38, grandgnu, montecarlo
ASR: Fonias, montecarlo, dasfury

Spreadsheet is viewable and downloadable here: http://bit.ly/s8gXj2
It displays all this information as well as formulas for each system, players' percentage profiles, points, games, etc.

This is sorted by TAZD*.

Looks like I had you pegged right too!

PGA's or any intent to help another player prior to a game is entirely unacceptable. Group efforts to boost the points of one player is not tolerated. This is a serious offense. Therefore, as a result, you are banned for 14 days. -play fiero600 11:52 PM, Wednesday July 30, 2008 CDT

Nice cheating to place high in the tournies and get your monthly trophies Monte. I'm sure I believe ya about the not cheating bro.

Anyone with that many trophies couldn't possibly be involved in pga or multi-accounting, my bad.

Keep on keeping on. Lemme know when you can clear 60% top three finishes in a month fag

Gnu,

Instead of enumerating your embryos prior to their oviparation, you might want to be posting less and playing more games this month to avoid by overtaken by dottir.

skrum, any response to the issue pointed out previously, where a player can get a first and have their TAZD decrease?

The TAZD and any chi square has two tails.

Just so long as it's not a measure of skill, you can spin it however you want.

Because if a win decreases your score, it's clearly not measuring skill.

A win changes the percentage of firsts, but it also (with some exceptions, since Ryan truncates the percentages) reduces the percentages of the other six places. Likewise, a seventh reduces the percentage of your firsts.

A win can be the result after a series of sevenths where a player with a zero score is trying to qualify for a tournament by flagging quickly, but it might have not been the best scenario, compared to the player having built up the necessary minimum in a more leisurely fashion ahead of time, and sitting on it, instead of waiting until just before the tournament starts. In other words, he could have obtained his qualifying points at the price of fewer sevenths. Hence the win may not be an indication of better skill. He built up his tail of sevenths too high compared to what a better player would have done. The TAZD measures that tail as an evidence of a strategy in play. The TAZD, unlike chloe, doesn't prejudge whether a strategy is good or not; the judgement is done by the player as his game evolves.

This also doesn't take into account all the games where we just fuck around, which for me is like 25%. Also, it rewards people that sit around trying to "fight for 5th". I believe that these stats should give more credit for 7th place than 5th and 6th.
