The game is fine, the players are the problem. In particular, very rarely does anyone get punished for teaming up. If an early vflag is met with the rest of the board turning their attention to the team, it will fail. The only reason it works so well is that the players let it happen.

adding play tables w/ no points would be interesting but lots of people do care about points and points driving the memberships and the addiction/traffic - so ya, from ryan's perfective i don't know that this is the best idea

for a very short period of time 6th and 7th place had the same payout. also the dom system wasnt so retartded. i dont know why the fuck that was changed. it was a step in the right direction, because instead of vflagging you could just cut your losses and go on to the next game.

points are what ruin the game. you name a problem with how people play today, and it all boils down to their pointless desire to accumulate rhombi.

i agree with what shev said. i remember/miss those days. the restructuring of the members tournaments, dom points, and the lower tables did more harm than good i feel.

Most people play BECAUSE they want points. If not for the competition they might not play.

Perhaps I'm wrong about this...


KDice needs a team play module and Ryan needs to lessen (not eliminate) the huge advantage members have with members tournies. I'd also like him to add a "flag to a specific color" option which has been spoken of before. This would fucking eliminate vflags and at least make them REAL flags.

greek: at the end of the day it all boils down to the fact that this site is only around to pull in some extra cash for ryan and act as a side hobby. it actually does pull in some cash so that's why he keeps it up - but lets be honest for a moment, you think the traffic would go up if there was no competition?

the whole point of having competitive multiplayer (alla halo, call of duty, etc) is to get more people to play. in ryan's case he wants more people playing because of the ad revenue and the memberships.

so yeah... good luck getting this idea off the ground
