MODS CANNOT MOD WHEN THEY PLAY

There is a saying in law which says: "You cannot be judge and part of the accusation".
In our Kdice world it would mean that Mods cannot do their job while playing as they would lose their neutrality... |

let's say a judge was murdered, there's no way at the trial he could be the judge and part of the prosecution ;) |

I believe this is what he meant and it is very relevant in the following example. I was saying this, because Erk got banned for life while playing against Sam (and after killing him). I truly believe this is wrong and other Mods should look into what really happened (and not only based on Sam words but from other players that were at the table, Erk included). On a separate note, NO ACCOUNT should be BANNED FOR LIFE. We are not in Texas! For certain players, a KDIce avatar is a few years work and is at the heart of the success of this game as these players represent KDIce more than anything else; Who would imagine banning Das for life? |

at 9:50 PM, Saturday October 15, 2011 EDT I agree that generally speaking mods shouldn't ban for games they play in. There's always edge cases, but that seems like a good rule of thumb.
However, most gaming sites and multiplayer games have rules that will get accounts permanently banned. That this happens in general is nothing new and shouldn't surprise you. Disagreeing with the reason for the permaban is a different story, obviously. |

As well, this is just a game and we should not take it too seriously so a permaban seems tough to me. For example, if Veta tried to benefit from the weakness of a system that was put in place, it is not a crime as there were no rules against it when he did it. About Erk, I seriously believe that this should be looked into as Sam is definitely not a moderate Mod. |

A month earlier, he warned me under threat of banning that using the word 'faggot' was not acceptable. So just so everyone is clear, you can hang shit on down syndrome kids but you can't call someone a fag. |
