im confused.

in the midst of mad cramming for my boards this week, i left my wallet+keys+cell in a bathroom stall when i was changing into work clothes. yes, im an idiot like that.

anyways, closely monitored amex and visa accts online, zero transactions since i lost my wallet. closely monitored verizonwireless, zero activity since i lost it. so i assumed that a good person must have found them and turned them into lost+found. checked with the lost+found office this morning: nada. checked with all the local security, no one knew of a wallet+keys+cell being turned in.

so why would someone find my stuff, take it, but then not use it? theories?

btw, im going through with cancelling all cards and getting replacement phone and other important stuff. so annoying.

if you lost your wallet/phone...

would you rather someone throw it in the garbage or spend $25 on gas and send it all back to you? Honest question.

Hahaha would you rather I be a dick or would you rather I steal from you?

God that's fucking pathetic.

if i ever found a wallet, i wouldnt just send it back, i would express it back. along with a note saying please send me back payment for the express shipment.

ive already lost $45 replacing my school ID and bus pass ($15/week to pay for bus w/o pass, free with pass).

now that ive been on this side of losing a wallet, i know that if im ever on the other side, by far the most important thing is time. so i would try to contact the person in anyway possible, and if that werent possible, i would express the stuff back to him asap so he wouldnt have to go through the frustrating and costly replacement of everything.

it's so expensive replacing all that shit. I bet if you had your wallet back the very next day... but with $25 less dollars... you'd be happy :)

sorry to burst you guys bubbles but most people that aren't going to get something out of it will just let the wallet/phone sit there.

btw, i'll offer you free consultation :)

The issue with buying something for 25 dollars and mailing the wallet back is that the owner will often have cancelled the credit cards before the wallet arrives in the mail; therefore much of the damage is already done.

Beyond that; you may now actually be prosecuted by the credit card company for usage of a stolen credit card; seeing as you used the card during the period of time the owner declared it missing.

Of course there are other issues; but the above are the ones that I believe the OP didn't realize.
