Nobody is arguing that today these views on states rights and entitlements are based on underlying racism but I wanted you to recognize their origin was indeed in maintaining or responding to the civil rights movements of the 60s. I don't think that's an unfair assessment, you could argue that China's communism was a result of youth-fueled counter culture in much the sane way. Today China isn't communist because of it's rebellious youth though.
