Should I liquidate all our stocks and buy gold?

Can't believe I'm actually half serious. I just don't want to go through another cycle of losing half our savings again (bad enough we bought a house in 2005 lol).

K8: "trader by day...software engineer by night. living the high life :P"

Yeah it's kinda like being a superhero; except you don't save anyone; you don't wear a costume; you don't have superpowers; and no one cares.

While I thought the post on how people discussing world issues in an online dice-game might not be the brightest of them all quite funny (sorry, replying you don't see the threat any more and I did not note down the poster, great software here) - one thing is open to discussion.

How do you come to the conclusion that children in 200 years will be more intelligent than people of today? If you had said better educated and having gathered more knowledge - you'd most likely be right (if we have not succeeded in bombing ourselves back to the stoneage by then). I doubt a significant increase in intelligence in 200 years though - that's too fast. Just some 8 generations, evolution don't act at that speed. So they'll be as dumb as us. Probably still discussing the distribution of little pieces of paper with funny colors on them to become more happy (thanks to Douglas Adams for that one).

We are no longer living in a world where we do the same thing generation after generation. With the development of extremely evolved technology which is improving exponentially year after year, to think that any of us have a clue of the truth of what is going on in this world at any given time is ludicrous.

If you could go back to 1811, you would go down as the most intelligent human being to have ever existed - by far. And that could even be said before the 90's. The president wouldn't even be close to you. You would be the one and only supreme intellectual to ever exist.

In 200 years, things will have happened and discoveries will have been made that will make dc's apps look like a retard just learned what a cellphone was.

So to ever speak like he does, mentioning that his financial advice is illegal, I'm sure gives a chuckle to anyone who reads it.

It's just funny to think what goes through his head (or doesn't) while he types that into an online dice game forum thinking he's giving people life changing advice xD .

oh yeah, and the little post you made their with that thread link... just to let you know, apart from the fact that you are completely wrong on the issue, you spent just as much time as I did posting on that thread, and you weren't even involved!

Again you are missing the point of the difference between intelligence and education. I have no doubt I have bigger knowledge than people had 1891. It is unquestionable that knowledge evolves exponentially. Intelligence does not.

However, the fact that you completely missed the point of my post and just repeated what you said befor, makes your claim on being dumb quite a good call.

Intelligence IS in fact evolving at a rate exponential to the estimated rates from previous centuries. It's not my fault that you have not looked this up. And then you insult me at the end. Classic case of ignorance if I've ever seen it xD. And, knowledge is in fact viewed nowadays as a mechanism in building intellect, as before intellect was assumed to be a certain inherent quality one received while being born.

I can immediately tell, based on your above post, that you have never been educated on this matter, so I suggest you end the argument now. It's comparative to a tutor aiding a slacking student.
