So here's another thread so I can get some of that point of view.

"I would push for the repeal of federal laws that make it illegal for citizens to buy insurance from a company out of state. This would instantly make the insurance industry far more competitive" - This is an interesting idea However, a voucher system would be terrible - unless we're going to shut down public schooling and provide vouchers for every child. |

at 8:40 AM, Wednesday July 27, 2011 EDT What do you want said? Based on the graph you posted, it appears that Obama has added $1.4 trillion in spending to the already bad spending habits of Bush II. Also, the graph "assumes" that this is all Obama will incur since it has "projections" through 2017.
I'm being nice by saying that the graph is meaningless and shows that both Presidents are incapable of controlling government spending. What other points are you looking to be made Pierce? |

at 9:30 AM, Wednesday July 27, 2011 EDT i think the republican base would fire back the standard rhetoric of recalling how obamas two main tenets were "yes we can" and "change". ummmm.... so by "change" he meant "yes, we can change the spending to be even more egregious."
call me naive, but i assumed that by "change" he meant that he would reduce the spending. owell. anyways, its all rhetoric. dems would say the change was all these excellent new programs that have been enacted, which ofc cost money. but whereas bush spent gobs on middle east wars, obama did it to improve america. god i hate bipartisan politics where facts are always lost in spin. |

Reverse your statement, switch the Obama's with Bush's, and look in the mirror. It's pretty fucking obvious that throwing money at the problem ISN'T WORKING. Bush did it for awhile, and it didn't work. Obama has done it for over 2 years, and it hasn't worked. Who is going to stop the spending? |
