It is silly to argue about the Republicans not being racist because of what the party was in the 1860's through the 1960's when there was a major shift of social conservatives to the Republican party from the Democrat party and vise versa during that time.

What I find remarkable is not that liberals claim that conservatives are racist; it is what always comes along with it. They never make the claim with any facts and it is always packaged with a phrase such as "you'll be silly if you don't understand this".
