Paul Ryan's plan is not a sham.

I thought my post about the stolen golds would get monte to wall-o-text......but alas, cooler heads prevailed.

In the context of where our economy is and the actual services the MAJORITY of the country wants the federal government to offer, the solutions he offers are draconian and asinine.

I think that qualifies as a sham. Well I think the social safety nets we have in place need to be fundamentally altered to ensure long term viability, social security, medicare, et al. We also need to honestly look at our tax code and shore up some of the massive loop holes and well we are at it end the Bush tax cuts on those making 250k+ that alone would accomplish almost the exact same deficit reductions the Ryan plan calls for.

Also we need to stop fueling our government and economy on military contracts and healthcare, that would help too.

Oh prisons, I forgot those, serious drug policy reforms please.

The Ryan plan restores out-of-pocket costs at 100% of marginal social cost which would be the best one thing to do to bring down medical care prices.
