when people tell me "I'm a republican"...in my mind it registers "I'm ignorant"
I think it's interesting that I assign certain qualities to republicans unintentionally is that normal? |

at 1:16 PM, Thursday July 7, 2011 EDT I'm just trying to learn from everyone here. Everyone spouts off their ideas as intellectual truths that aren't up for debate. It's obvious that my opinions and viewpoints are wrong since I'm in the minority on this website and I'm just a batshit crazy, dumbass Republican. I'm just trying to get a handle on how our country works. Apparantly my ire shouldn't be aimed at the President, nor should anyone's praise. I was unaware that he had so little influence on the political process. I guess my lone Congressman is the only thing I should care about.
I'll stop debating about the President henceforth since his position is not worth my time to worry about. Yes, I'm being purposely obtuse. I'm just tired of the blame for our problems being aimed everywhere except for Mr. Obama. |

at 1:23 PM, Thursday July 7, 2011 EDT the president also has the power of commander in chief, although i need someone to explain what that means. is it congress that decides that we can go to war, and then the president has ultimate command of our forces?
anyways, i took a little offense at what you said sam: "idealouges on the right that want to kill the federal government for the benefit of the rich". im on the right, and i would like to shrink the federal govt from its current size, but i definitely dont want to benefit the rich. i want their taxes to be raised to a higher level (but not too high). |

at 1:24 PM, Thursday July 7, 2011 EDT I don't absolve Obama from blame in his failures, I am not happy with what he has gotten done and what he has failed to accomplish. I just think it is asinine to lay the entirety of the problems with the country on the failures of his leadership. George Fucking Washington couldn't have gotten shit done with the current climate that exists in the legislative branch of our government.
I will give Obama some props for calling out the Supreme Court for being dumbfucks in the Citizens United v. FEC, that was the type of leadership people wanted from him, too bad he doesn't exhibit that backbone more often. He did the same when he invited Paul Ryan to his news conference responding to his plan and called the Ryan plan out for being the sham that it is. Why the Democrats refuse to stick to the tact he showed in these two instances is beyond me. |

at 1:24 PM, Thursday July 7, 2011 EDT The above is a typical example of republican self-victimization. They just want to be persecuted and claim they are whenever facts don't go their way (read: faux news).

If it's so popular, then why can't he sell it? |

at 1:27 PM, Thursday July 7, 2011 EDT yeah the current climate sucks. i was hopeful that we would outgrow it in a couple decades as the idealistic youth get older, but it seems the repub/demo duality has successfully brainwashed a new generation that you can either be repub or demo and only vote that way, instead of actually researching and voting.
