at my 4-year-olds preschool for a little while yesterday, and as I scan the forum here from time-to-time, I come to the realization that those 4-year-olds have an equal to, or greater than, maturity level than a good portion of this "adult" community. This is the main reason I don't actively moderate anymore. If I wanted to babysit a bunch of immature human beings, I would have much more fun at my son's preschool than I do here.

at 10:29 AM, Friday June 17, 2011 EDT some guys will be thanking me on their bare knees if their wife or girl starts doing this too so here goes:
my wife just uses a second package of birth control pills after the first one is finished so she only has her period once every 2 months. So that's half the periods a year, half the pms, etc...still haven't found a disadvantage yet. The doctor said you could reduce the number of periods a year even more but then you run the risk of having unsheduled periods inbetween. This could either kill the thread (my bad) or it could help it a bit |

at 11:00 AM, Friday June 17, 2011 EDT There is no medical disadvantage to having fewer periods in a year- There's a birth control pill you see advertised in the US all the time that is set up to give you four a year. Yes, you're more likely to see spotting between periods if you have fewer per year.
I wish I could go back on birth control, but I get really emotional (depending on which pill I take: yaz was wayyyy worse than ortho tri cyclen lo) and I'm concerned that birth control caused my ovarian cyst. :/ |

at 11:09 AM, Friday June 17, 2011 EDT also, if you ever get to the point where you want to get preggers, coming off birth control can be insane. it takes awhile for your body to readjust to its natural levels of hormones, and you can end up having quite erratic periods, which makes timing for pregnancy tough.
after watching my wife go through the several different birth control prescriptions over a few years, and then coming off them for a couple months before we officially started trying... man, we both agreed that we never wanted her on the pill again. id rather just use a condom. |

at 11:13 AM, Friday June 17, 2011 EDT truth: I quit birth control mid-October. I didn't have a period until the end of December (merry christmas, aunt flo), partially because of hormones, partially because of the cyst. Then after I had the cyst out I was regular for a couple months and right now my cycle is fucking crazy irregular. I was never regular (except ofc when I was on the pill) but now it's worse than it was before. it sucks.

at 11:29 AM, Friday June 17, 2011 EDT Periods are a great time to have sex. No pregnancy!!!
A simple shower afterwards is all that's needed. However, it puts quite a damper on my "eating" capabilities. |
