at 4:27 PM, Tuesday May 24, 2011 EDT Oh ok; well the eye gouging is reference to Iran's eye for eye system. Where the victim can ask the court to perform the same atrocity to the defendant that was allegedly performed on him. So for example; in a case where the victim was attacked and lost an eye; the victim chose to have the other man's eye removed by court paid surgeons.
The reference to wood chippers is a often repeated accusation of those repressed under Saddam in Iraq. The man was known to have put political enemies into industrial shredders feet first; so the pain is long and slow. Btw; he was also proven to have used electrocution; removal of fingers; whipping; hanging people by their arms tied behind their back; and a number of other things that are far worse then embarrassing photo graphs and water boarding. |

Our prison system is pretty inhumane, which I wouldn't really care about if it did anything to discourage actual crime. |
