difference between this person and the last person jurgs banned: this is a racial slur. that was admitted pga. racial slur gets a warning. admitted pga gets a ban.

imo this isn't jurgen playing favourites; it's a different consequence to a different offense.

Here is a direct quote from Jurgen on the Advisor blog: "One “nigger” or “gay” or whatever isn’t enough to ban but if someone repeatedly uses them in a clear hateful way or really stalks someone to keep harassing, then you have a case."

Clearly my screenshot shows an instance of "clear hatefulness"; which is the standard that Jurgen himself used for banning.

Notice he doesn't just say the n-word; but then goes on to talk about "brown muslims".

If this isn't "clearly hateful". What is?

ive been around so long that ive seen several eras in kdice:

1) no mods whatsoever except ryan, endless rampant abuse of rules, with <5% chance of anything happening.

2) mods now exist. abuse gets reported, and around 50% of the time, something is done. this is amazingly better than stage 1.

3) mods get fuckin burnt out because they get no money, the people who are rightfully banned run massive smear campaigns against them, and they often get bitched at for not being around enough by people who never played during stage 1. also, mods have real lives, which usually have a lot of responsibility.


its a very tenuous step between stage 2 and 3. i try to keep the kpopulace in line from actively burning out the mods so that we dont regress back to stage 1. jurgs has done a shit-ton for this site, stop bitching about him being wrong sometimes or not agreeing with you wholeheartedly sometimes. if its really that big of a stick up your ass, then go bitch at the witnesses to come comment in this thread that the hate language 100% happened. dont bitch at jurgen for covering his ass, and trying to be polite/patient to someone who has never been penalized before on this site.

and im not fucking defending my friend. friendship has nothing to do with this. im defending a mod that has put in a lot of time, and has made, imo, pretty consistent rulings.

as far as friendship goes, i make fun of jurgs all the time about being creepy with the ladies here. he knows this. im not in some kind of inner jurgen circle. i dont have boobs. but i respect his mod history. he is amazingly active, for a record amount of time, and is very consistent and fair imo.

Listen if the key here is that I have to post multiple screen shots of this guy doing it over a course of many days. Then aren't you actually protecting this guy?

I mean; he clearly did it; we have witnesses. Why is there just a hefty burden of proof necessary for this? Why would I go through this process again after this response; surely everyone watching this post has concluded that reporting racism is ineffective at best and leads to a backlash at worse.

I've been negatively re-enforced to not report these types of things. Are you unable to see how this leads to more racist remarks and less reporting.

and you just gave the evidence of how fair this ruling is by jurgs. this the guys usage of the first strike. jurgs appropriately warned him, next time it will be banning.

hes staying true to EXACTLY what he said in his outline.

ok, fine, in this guys first reported offense, he said TWO instances of hate language. but its still his first reported offense. im with jurgs on this.

HOW THE HELL IS THIS INEFFECTIVE

1) you report the first instance of abuse
2) jurg listens, and follows his mod credo of warning on first abuse.
3) jurg POSTS A MESSAGE ON THE GUYS WALL so that if
4) the dude ever gets caught/reported again,
5) jurg will see his wall, and
6) banhammer

this is the definition of effectiveness.

jurgs laid the outline for his progression of punishment, and he is sticking to it.

what it all comes down to is you and jurg disagree about how harshly to punish first-time offenders.

so disagree with him on that. dont attack him for making different rulings based on him not respecting you. he made the ruling based on his credo.
