Jurgen; I understand where you are coming from; but surely you see the perception of the whole thing is not in your favor.

If a friend says to ban someone you do it; but if a non-friend says to ban someone you need evidence which is clearly impossible to present seeing as images/chat logs mean nothing.

And a contributor badge doesn't mean anything tons of admitted PGA's have contributor badges.

dead thats why we have mods of all walks of life that dont always agree with eachother but know how to work together to make this site a better place.

dead i didnt read jurgs reasoning as him being partial to friends advice, but him being partial to trustworthy peoples advice. most mods know the difference between friendship and trustworthiness. like thrax sees chase as a friend, but wouldnt trust him very far in mod counsel.

I understand now, Monte. I guess its the best that can be done given the current circumstances.

I think what really explained it for me; is the concept of debate amongst mods. Which seems like it is a good process; especially if the staff is trustworthy; and not of the same social circles (which in my experience is the case).

My interest in this topic is a personal one. I used to mod at a website called CL2K.org for the Worms franchise; and we used to obsess over things like this. Anyway; good show.

I realise a little more evidence would have been useful but not really sure what I could gather - it's much easier to spot an audrey on the other side.
