And yes I realize what you're getting at, the mods can use anything they want to justify a ban. Chase offered to sit my account, I asked him to play. He could play so he did me and the rest of the table the gracious favor of sitting and flagging out. In this case the motive is unimportant, what happened was not cheating in any form made familiar to the community. BR's rules don't count because they're the ramblings of a dogmatic fool. No explicit cheating occured and therefore I should either be given some kind of sentence that serves as a warning or I should be unbanned.

As far as pushing limits goes, I don't know where you're getting that from. Maybe Bone-Roller, I didn't have Chase sit because I get jollies out of thing that may or may not be construed as unfair. Chase sat on his own accord because we had been waiting for almost an hour and needed someone to start the game.

veta, you know I have an extremely busy weekend here but I'll take the time to respond in short. I can't really go into long discussions here but you know we have discussed your points in part already on AIM.

- I banned you with the standard minimum penalty of 1 day (was even only half a day but no time to check now): yes it was funny, but yes it needed a ban based on the principle that faking accounts is not allowed (and you DID try to get different mods to get DDDY banned)

- I banned the parvati and boogy accounts, I probably should have added a 1 day ban for clakebar too but I decided not to apply the "punish player and not only account" rule (I hate BR doctrine as name for it btw). I banned boogy longer than a day because I felt he was most to blame here, I still wasn't sure how involved clarke was in al of this. In theory, I could have banned you as well there veta since the parv account got 5 stars given (you say you did 3, 2 from alexurbanec, I can't check all that, sure fact is he got 5) for that game to start. The fact that parv/boog didn't seem to favor you, made me decide I shouldn't be a ruleraper and use it as an excuse to ban you too. But I could have. You were also the one that convinced boogy to do a bannable thing so I could have dragged you in anyway.

Also, let's be honest. Ryan doesn't clearly mention it's not allowed but giving someone 1250 points (half the monthly member boost that people pay for) to sit a game does look unethical, even when I agree it sucks that 5k's don't always start fast. It's another discussion though and I don't have time now. Fact is , both boogy and parv got banned only shortly because it was their first offense (and I applied the punish player rule on boogy, not for clarke). I was extra nice for a first offense, I'll be extra hard on either if it happens again (friends or people I like or not).

Monte is right, a point reset isn't really clearly on the table and I can understand you try to defend your credibility but I would also lay low here and take the gold for as long as no-one really questions that in the open. Fact is you received a few shorter bans this month so it's logic that if Sam is convinced he sees another offense, he can increase that ban time to a week (effectively until end of month).

Barring that typical cunty response from kate, I've heard what's been said and I appreciate the perspective. Especially from Monte and Jurgen, thank you.

I can't take back my frustration or what I voiced here but it suffices to say I was rather rash and I since I wasn't getting any answers I naturally assumed I was getting permabanned or worse. Now I don't think that's completely illogical considering it's happened before. That being said yeah I'll take a pass on this and shut up. I might not get unbanned after this schtick now anyway, and if that's the case that unfortunate.

Anyway I just finished a 12 page paper on the cultural relativism of morality, and for someone who counts nietzsche among his favorite philosophers this was rather frustrating and difficult on more than a few levels (lots of double think and adderall was involved).

For what it's worth it's black history month and I still think the niggler should be unbanned.
