at 11:41 AM, Friday February 4, 2011 EST man, I live country that is being fucked up big time by some moronic politicians but I am still happy as hell that I live in Belgium and not in Egypt.
My respect goes out to all those people in Egypt who are willing to risk their lives for some badly needed changes. |

at 11:56 AM, Friday February 4, 2011 EST good to see that chase and rob can exchange f-bombs in discussions that dont involve republicans/democrats.
but srsly, i can understand why both of yall are offended. the brutality of those videos is shocking. i wouldnt be too quick to defend the rioters or the govt vehicles. protesters are protesting to speak out against their lack of rights. good. however, the protests have in some cases plunged into disorganized riots, which are extremely volatile, even moreso after dark. the people in the white van seem to have concluded what was about to happen to them (call them pessimists), and were forced with an insane decision that we should all hope we never have to face. they chose to gtfo. it looks like the van veered into the crowd, but srsly, all of us have ZERO experience when it comes to controlling a speeding van down a road that we can hardly see, while fearing for our lives. maybe it was intentional, but i cant conclude anything based on this video without showing my biases. the green police van in video #2 seems to be guilty, based on how other cars are proceeding through the streets. however, who knows, maybe the police are being targeted in the middle of this breakdown, and they have reason to be paranoid. and i put money on them being insanely stressed to the point that they cant make any reasonable decisions. but yall look like the standard ignorant americans, shooting first, asking questions later, dropping fuck yous at each other, while having hardly any grasp on what is really happening in egypt. stop making us look bad. i usually dont like what hillary says, but she did excellently in responding to reporters earlier this week before stuff started getting extremely crazy. reporters were insisting that she take a stance on the issues in egypt, and she didnt skirt the issue, but wouldnt back down from her answer, that simply put, we dont know what is going on in egypt, so we cant say anything pro/anti anyone over there outside of the fact that america wants the people's voice to be heard in egypt, and desires a more democratic situation, as they do in all countries. well said, hillary. finally looks like weve learned (somewhat) our lesson from the gulf, that we dont know shit, and how bout we stop assuming that gulf politics/relationships should work exactly like how things work in english in america. meh. |

at 12:27 PM, Friday February 4, 2011 EST I didn't take any sides, I simply asked a question and was then told "fuck you" a few hours later.
I agree with you Joe, stress is most certainly high with everyone there. I didn't take any political side nor support either party. I simply stated that if an angry mob of Egyptians was storming my SUV that I might panic similarly. But I don't know because I'm not in that situation, and neither is Chase. Chase tried to take a "moment" and turn it into a political statement on government murder. It's simply not that cut and dry. Not everyone in the mob is innocent/good and not everyone involved in the Egyptian government is guilty/evil. I digress... |

at 1:43 PM, Friday February 4, 2011 EST I wasnt trying to politicize it that much when i wrote it, but i did.
i was just sorta offended that anyone would try to rationalize the actions of someone who veered into a crowd of people. |

at 1:46 PM, Friday February 4, 2011 EST and i wasnt saying that the government murdered those people; i was only claiming that the driver acted unscrupulously while trying to escape from a less than savory situation.
though the best way to make sure that rioters arent in the street is to not give them a reason to riot. |
