Some changes are in order for 2010 in k-world.
Why? I am so bored of this game it's sickening. I look at the screen and I just don't want to play. It's boring because of the high level of predictability in just about every game. I can tell you with 90% certainty who will come in 1st, 2nd & 3rd at most 2k & 5k tables. In fact, I did that twice in a row last month at a 2k table. Every experienced player knows why the games are predictable... the rampant favoritism and pecking order within the realm of the titans of k-dice. Not to mention the cheating threads that never seem to end. Well, enough bitching and complaining about the reality of this k-world. HOW ABOUT SOME SOLUTIONS! What I am proposing is not 100% new to some of you. In fact, my proposal of a new game environment is a combination of other people's suggestions and some "going concern" thoughts that have evolved over the past 2 years. So here goes... How to change this site to make it fun and challenging again. #1 - trash the current k-dice 7 player games all together. However, the tourney system should be kept in place with the current 7 player model in place. # 2 - develop two additional modes of play which include "team" and "incognito". # 3 - In team play, there would be 3 v 3 teams that you would reserve or sit randomly. "In game" chat would only be limited to you and your team mates. So the other team has no idea what your team is planning. # 4 - the incognito play would totally replace the current mode of play. It would be simple. This would be a 7 player game. No identity of any player would be known to anyone before or during the game. There would be no open chat. All chat in game would be limited to pre-selected (drop down menu) terms like "I flag 3" or "I'm heading west" or "I want 4th". At the end of the game, the identity of all players would be revealed to all. ------------------------------------------- This site has potential. In fact, this site has a lot of potential. However, if the pathetic mode of game play continues without change, I fear that this site will eventualy dwindle out. In fact, if this site is not changed, my friends and I will likely develop a new site by 2011 to implement the ideas outlined above. Of course, the theme of our game and name will be unique. But at least we will create something that is fun and fresh. |

I believe that 95% of all cheating would go away at the "incognito" tables simply because team play would be made available as well. In other words, I believe that most players who rampantly cheat now would be very happy playing in the team mode. The team mode would serve as a diversion for many who crave team play. My theory is that people who cheat at this game are not fundamentally "bad people". They simply are bored with the same old shit. People who cheat want to be challenged. Basic psychology here guys. While some people will find methods of cheating in any game, I believe that the essence of this great game would come out more with the new models. Lets face it, sometime we want to veg out and just play. At other times we want to be more social. These new game options would cater to how we feel and keep us interested in playing. It is extremely important to have both game options available. If not, the balance of the site will be worse than it is presently. The two game options will offer duality to suit the mood of each player every time that they come to the site. Variety is powerful in marketing and sales. |

But, the system could utilize a different model reminiscent of America's Army system where enemies look like terrorist and your team looks like western armies. Basically, a color anonymizer. Different colors to different players.
