WHO IS THE MOST SKILLED KDICER?

A contest based on *opinion clusters*

This shouldn't be a reflection of * raw facts *
such as trophies or earned career points etc..

This should be about the most competitive *player style* according to your opinion.
Since there are many ways how a player can be competitive in "modern kdice", I will suggest some categories which are usually considered to be important for kdicers to do well at the tables, in tournaments or even in a monthly competition.

It's usually a pretty controversial topic but let's see whose name will be named most often in the end. Remember: It's about the best player, so if you can avoid it, please don't name more than one player for each category. If it's really too hard for you to decide who is the best, then name two players (more will not be considered).

I suggest following categories in a random order (sorry if there might be some overlap):

(1) Best "comeback player"
(The ability to develop small bases/ turning bad starts/ bad luck in the first rounds into good situations. This is also linked with the ability to never give up, even when the chances of getting good results are low).

(2) Best "board reader"
(The ability of a player to know exactly what their opponents will do and using that "information" for their own benefit like making silent truces or forcing other players into making mistakes. Those players work like computers, calculating the best moves).

(3) Best "manipulator"
(The ability to make other players act for their own (the manipulator's) benefit, almost always achieved by using the chatbox. Communication is the most powerful weapon for those players).

(4) Best "social gamer"
(The ability to make intelligent alliances, truces and honouring them. This is also linked with the reputation of "social gamers" to be extremely trustworthy in all kind of situations).

(5) Best "marathon player"
(The ability of playing hundreds of games during a month while maintaining a "competitive style" and a high PPG)

(6) Best "end gamers"
(The ability to make no mistakes in a head to head situation (often 8v8) by intelligently calculating risk and chance of certain attacks).

(7) Best "tournament survivors" (The only category linked to tournaments only)
(The ability to make it to the final tables of tournaments by using the various tournament strategies, but basically focusing on surviving (also with the help of vflags). This is also linked to the ability to judge when it makes most sense to eliminate a low ranked player or to kill a player with many points).

(8) FINALLY: The best "TOTAL PACKAGE"
This is the chance for you to decide which category seems most important to you/
whose player's style is the best overall. This can also be the result that a certain player masters all or the most of the mentioned categories, while not actually being the best in a specific category, this player's style often ranks among the best most categories).

Thanks a lot guys.
I'm glad that so many of you have already participated here.
Hopefully we will get even more opinions to make those *opinion clusters* as objective as possible.

A few remarks:
- Some people had problems with category (6) and I guess it was because I didn't explain/ define it properly.
Well, "end game" situations are any kind of battles where only two players are involved. So this becomes very important towards the end of tournaments but also when there are only two players left at a regular table (it is often an 8v8 fight but not necessarily). 1 vs 1 situations also demand a greater amount of "mental strength" from the players involved, because the frequency of attacks gets higher and it is always the same person they have to fight.
So I suggest you should consider this point under the aspect of mental strength (I still think dasfury is probably the best example here).

- Another problem was that some players couldn't think of only one name for each category. Well, as I said above, just go ahead and mention two then.

- In some categories, some players mentioned their own names.
To be honest: I don't think that this helps the objectivity aspect of opinion clusters and therefore I want to ask you whether those votes should be considered or not. Thoughts?

I think it's silly to nominate yourself.

@rnd: Define "impressive". Or, you know, an example would be nice.

(1) Best "comeback player": Dasfury (anyone been dasstabbed lately?)

(2) Best "board reader": MadHat_Sam

(3) Best "manipulator": montecarlo

(4) Best "social gamer": shadolin/Vermont (I'd vote for myself here, but that would be lame)

(5) Best "marathon player": shadolin (in the absence of murti, but murti could rock KDice anytime he wants)

(6) Best "end gamer": dasfury (I've seen far too many one on one comebacks by him to vote for anyone else)

(7) Best "tournament survivor": Cody

(8) Best "TOTAL PACKAGE": MadHat_Sam/dasfury/montecarlo (they've been around forever and have had success no matter the scoring system/flag system)

Im sorry but I have to put myself down as best tournement survivor. I had 2 points in the 3 third round of the tourney and stayed in it until the end and got third overall.

(1) Best "comeback player": Das
I don't really know. I do this all the time, but I imagine lots of people do. So I'm going with Das because I remember him doing it.

(2) Best "board reader": X LUCK X. this one is easy.

(3) Best "manipulator": Monte. or Das.

(4) Best "social gamer": Me. That's an easy one too.

kidding.

Phoenix- is a good bet for this.

(5) Best "marathon player": eh. this is a good thing? I think not.

(6) Best "end gamer": Most people are good at this. I'll say RND because I always knew he would win in the end.

(7) Best "tournament survivor": tournaments are stupid

(8) Best "TOTAL PACKAGE": hmmm. Sam/Das/Monte/Wish/Luck/ are all some of the best. Most of the old Cabal - anti Cabal were actually some of the best players on kdice and I don't really see anyone new that stands out. Couldn't say that there's one best player though.
