at 6:03 AM, Tuesday December 2, 2008 EST Congrats Nix. No idea why people are being douchebags about Phoenix winning. If you're going to aim your hate at someone, aim it at Ryan for taking all his terrible modding lessons from Fiero.

at 7:54 AM, Tuesday December 2, 2008 EST To get some things right:
I am not putting down any the victory. Whatever the rules were, he followed them and managed. Others couldn't. That is to be respected. Arguing about the rules is to be seen separated from respecting and congratulating the winner. Buying a win is not a bad thing. Any member tries to do so. Where's the problem. Anybody could if they would like to. And if the members would only like to pay back Ryan for the effort he spent in programming that game, I guess they could without getting an advantage from it. As for the fostering of "unemployed players" by the high value of tournaments - I can play loads of games with many short breaks. It might cost me a game if the boss interrupts or the phone goes off. In a tourney that will take me out. Thus I have to have guaranteed uninterrupted time for gaming if I want to be successful in tourneys. And I need to have that time at a point where a tourney starts. To me that is something different. Well, I will still continue to play I guess, but the fun has been reduced somehow IMHO. |
