Top Player Culture Change

Things have dramatically improved this year for the culture of the top players. The improvement is these players being more interested in playing a good game than favoring their friends to get a higher rank.

However there are still a few top players around that get ahead by favoring each other. I'm surprised they're still able to get away with this. I see it as lame. Most other players do to. Yet they are still able to get away with it.

It's important for the better players to look down on this type of play because I can't monitor every game. Things need to change at the top tables. To players should feel confident in pointing out this cheap style of playing and acting accordingly.

I'd like people to post here if they're interested in helping to change the culture at the top tables. The goal for the culture at the top is to respect a good game and see players who need extra help to win as poorer players.

Why would we implement anonymous tables? If you want to play against bots........go play Dice Wars.

I think alot of people missed the point of this thread. Ryan isnt going to hire kdice referees like this is the NBA. PGA should be stopped by the kdice community, not ryan and mods alone.

Tater...........I think everyone knows the point, but most of them don't believe the community can govern itself properly. There are some who will cheat regardless of what you and I say about the matter.

In a perfect world, it would be nice to think we can all choose to play 100% fair games, but that isn't the case.

I think governing the larger kdice community is difficult because there will always be people who try to cheat.

But I'm only concerned that this stays out of the top players. Top players need to be about playing well and not who you know. And since this is a small set of people I think its possible for top players to govern themselves.

im just a little upset that i was labelled as a top player who doesnt play fair. what im upset about is that i was never told what i did that was unfair. i need to know this, and i would really appreciate a discussion about it, because i have rethought those 2 games over in my head hundreds of times in the last two days, and i dont think i would change a single move i made, no matter who was playing what colors in each game, if the table was full of noobs or if the table was full of point whores or if the table was full of friends. im upset because my integrity is implicitly being attacked here. please give an explanation!

to quote another thread in the forum -

"If you truly are innocent in this then you should be happy that something is being done and it will be much easier to play with your pure play style in the future."

quit your bitching. the end justifies the means.

There is only a small group of players on the higher tables. You heard about PGA on the higher tables and you are scared to risk your points. Everytime you are watching, you will see the same players on the 2.5k or 10k. So again back to play a 500. If there is PGA or not, its just you always see the same players there and you heard the rumors. And if you played once and got 6th or 7th, may about a bad start, you never will join again. Because you think, the rumors are true. And every month the same players are ranked top 25. So if anybody else wants a blue trophy, he needs to play 1000 games on a 500.
There is maybe PGA, the point is we cant stop it. And fact is the players on the higher table will claim top 25.
So my idea is, the highest table is 500, cause near 99% are willed to play there. And there is no advance like playing 2.5k or 10k.
Alot more players with the same chances to win the same amount of points.
Sure there still will be PGA, but its not the same advance. Now you play PGA on a 2.5k and it brings you alot of points, cause there is max 1 tables. If you PGA on 500, there are alot of 500 tables and on each, one player is reaching the same points as you.
What I wanne say is, we cant stop PGA and 90& are scared to join the higher tables. Especially the new players. So 90% wont reach top 25, cause they wont get the chance to reach that many points as the small group with the background of PGAing.
I am not talking about there is or there is not, fact is there are the rumors. And you cant stop rumors.
Try to give every player the same chance to reach the top 10.

Sorry about my bad english, but i hope you all got what i try to say.

but we can, when people start realizing that their points don't mean anything if they're getting a reacharound from others in the top 100.

Oddly enough, while ego may be the problem wihh the game, ego and pride to be the best will help solve it..... yet no one seems to have recognized what I'm saying yet...... :/

MsCat, in theory you could eliminate 2000/5000 tables because indeed then it would be difficult for PGA players to control their table.

However it would mean that players like me that rely on just playing a limited number of games each month (so mainly higher tables) will have a much harder time to get a blue medal, even a white. I intend to never play more than 100 regular games a month again. If you eliminate 2k/5k tables, mainly players that play 300+ games will be top100. Playing games will be at least as important as your skill level.

No problem with the 500table maximum idea if the rankings won't be based on rough point gains anymore but on your %1st, %2nd, %3rd,...%7th. To qualify on the end of the month for the rankings, you will need to have played at least 100 games, 50-100 games: lower coefficient so that the same %'s with say 60 games get a lower score than player with same % in maybe 120 games.
