Top Player Culture Change

Things have dramatically improved this year for the culture of the top players. The improvement is these players being more interested in playing a good game than favoring their friends to get a higher rank.

However there are still a few top players around that get ahead by favoring each other. I'm surprised they're still able to get away with this. I see it as lame. Most other players do to. Yet they are still able to get away with it.

It's important for the better players to look down on this type of play because I can't monitor every game. Things need to change at the top tables. To players should feel confident in pointing out this cheap style of playing and acting accordingly.

I'd like people to post here if they're interested in helping to change the culture at the top tables. The goal for the culture at the top is to respect a good game and see players who need extra help to win as poorer players.

One way to change the culture at the top tables is to monitor the behavior of the players and punish unwanted behavior. Another way to change the culture at the top tables is to change the way you measure "topness". Which is why Ryan has introduced other measures such as kills, aggressiveness, etc., that are shown on the leaderboard. And this is why I have introduced other measures, such as TAPL, baseball-style standings, etc., all of which are described on my Wall.
So if you want to reward behavior, publicize players' behaviors you like.

monte you have no integrity...that's my pt...who cares what really happened. you wouldve been banned in those games and you know it. if not in the first, definitely the second. and i like how you didnt address the fact that yes you and sam pga the shit out of each other. and we are resorting to name calling now? i thought you were like 30...still havent grown up yet?

just so ppl dont get it twisted...i originally got pissed bc monte stated this...
"most top players will agree that there has been a lame murti/nex pga going on for several months now. some (including myself) have also said that others were involved, but im not going to name names here or now."
besides the fact that i don't like him...and i think he's petty and lame...see thread where he tried to insult my penis size...and we all know what they say abt black men :)...i also uphold the fact that his gaming style is just as whack...and im not saying i play any better...but he started calling ppl out and that to me is petty and hypocritical...but i guess that's monte for you

Personally I think this is entire thread is a waste of time for both the top players and the bottom players. While reading this thread it made my think that a lot of you believe that because you are new and because you are not a "top" player that you will NEVER get a fair game at the higher tables. That to me is crap!

I have been playing Kdice for 3 full months. Two of those months I finished 3rd and 2nd overall. I did not do this by only playing 500 tables and I did not do this by enlisting a large group of friends on AIM and PGA'ing my way to the top. I simply learned how to adjust my game at the higher table by using the chat box and learning the play style of the people around me.

To be very honest I have experienced the SAME amount of PGA on the lower tables as with the higher tables. Why do you think that ALT's can be sucessful at Kdice? Do they tell all their buddies who they are and the favors keep rolling in? NO they dont, they simply know how to play the game at the higher levels.

A lot of players use PGA as an excuse to why they go robbed and did not win. I have MANY reviews that say I PGA and many that say I am a fair player. When someone thinks they got treated unfairly no amount of explanation will matter. Hell I even have a review that say I PGA with nexon......

I guess what I am saying is that IF you are new and IF you want to compete for a top spot it can happen all you need to do is beat the top players at their own game. That does not mean PGA or cheat it MEANS learn to truce, learn to recognize when someone is moving away from you and intends to be a friend, learn to recognize the little things during game play like a silent truce that is happening and call them on it and get a counter going, learn to recognize a revolt situation and how to end it, and something I still have a hard time doing, take your defeat like a man and congratulate people on not only out playing you, but out trucing you, and out manuvering you! They will respect you much more the next time you play.

Stop trying to change something that wont be changed on the tables and learn to do it better then the ones already doing it!

This is meant for game play at the table level, MTT are a completely different animal and much more complicated.

Or in other words, suck up to the top players enough and they might let you into the club.

Yeah, shad, thats not the point. The point is that giving favors to players to get return favors in other games is not very sportsmanlike and ruins the integrity of the competition. This is not so important at lower tables but is VERY important at the top tables. Top players should have integrity. When most do it will be enforced through the top player culture. Until them I'm forcing out top players without integrity manually.

SOOOO if i understand this your are ONLY trying to stop the favors that are passing from game to game and NOT the way the games are being played? I just need some clarification I guess.....

So anyone pay attention to my post? That the "top players" aren't so 'top' if they're A) supplanted by memberships and B)take part in any favors, PGA, or manipulation of games?

the best of the best should be, the best of the best....not the craftiest bastard
