Thoughts on new kdice

Lets discuss the new kdice version.

I'll try to get it out for Jan 1 with some changes:

- the look will be closer to the current kdice.
- the chat box will be put back to normal.

I'm hoping to leave the flagging change in since it helps solve the problem with the last player not wanting to flag (this happens because last knows that others can flag for last and waits for that). The flagging is more like the old flagging but without the ninja flag problem.

The strategy with the new flagging is that you can flag to single to a stronger player that you're not a threat. You're flagged at your current position, for example 2nd, and you can't place better. You'll be automatically knocked out when in this case there are only 2 players left. This also means the player in 3rd knows that you can't flag for third and will more likely opt to flag. Consequently, the player in first will attack 3rd knowing that 2nd isn't a threat. And since point farming is gone there is no motivation to attack second.

Thoughts?

Hi Ryan, thanks for your work on this
I have a few suggestions (put in a quick-read style for those lazy readers like me)

1. Put back the profile options
a. The national flag option
a1. this is the interesting aspect of the game, knowing that so many people from so many places play
b. Customizable profile, as before
b1. Much better way of "getting to know" someone rather than private messages , just a click and you know about them

2. Add a feature that if you hold SHIT, all dice become transparent
a. So we can see if territories are connected, dispide the additional clutter from the new version (you stated that there would be more territories per map)

3. Have a tooltip (mouse-over) feature that counts the dice when you hover the mouse over a territory. Turn-offable via options.
a. as stated before, this is a growing problem if there are going to be additional territories blocking dice infront of territories

4. Allow people who donate a certain amount of money to design a table. If they donate even more, they can have more tables
a. You would get so much money $$
b. The variety and creativeness of the tables would be totally amazing and extremely intresting (a map of Europe, the US states, a spiral, a charater from a movie, etc.)
b1. If this were to pass, then I suggest you get rid of all max/min ratings as it would be nice to be able to choose the table you want to play at, or think of another solution.

4. My final suggestion is to have a feature that places a small peace sign (☮) on trucers, like some multi-player war-strategy games have. It would be in the color of the person who they are truced with. (example: If purple truced with green, he would have a green peace sign on him and green would have a purple)
a. This is good because it really helps people who don't read the chat box or can keep track of the truces.
b. This could just be a self-note thing, or it could be where people put up the sign for all to see.

Thanks again Ryan for your continued efforts to made a good gaming site

EDIT to my post above:
I spelled SHIFT wrong, it says SHIT, lol

Another suggestion:
6. Allow just one table that allows people of the same IP to play against each other
a. I have a family of 6 and it would be just great if we could have a family battle against each other. (not that we have 6 computers or anything though, we have 4)

Hahaha...

Love it. I haven't been here for ~3 months and the first thread I see is about a "new" kdice version. I wonder how many versions I missed since September.

when you are asking for new features to be added, keep in mind that any new features will take ryan's time and money......so considering donating or buying a membership

ryan, if i donate before Jan 1, do i still get a year's worth of membership?

the truce sign is a good suggestion, but you have to be able to identify who is trucing with who, and those two cannot attack each other once the sign is up

and known PGAers should have a sign (perhaps a skull) beside their name
