did anybody else notice the alltime top ten?

on the afternoon of december 1, i logged on to kdice.com, and was taken to a page that showed december's current top ten along with the alltime top ten. everything seemed okay until i realized the most controversial name of kdice was missing. alltime number 1 was X LUCK X... who if i remember right from last time, should be alltime number 2 behind....

rnd seems to have been disappeared by the authorities of kdice. all his domination seems to have been farmed away instantly. i mean, i guess we all know he was never that good. he just played 1200 games a month, thats all.

Please don't feed the trolls and let them go back under the bridge where they belong.

I agree with you Mad Hat. Trolls should not be feed and cheaters like Integral should be removed from ranks and banned.

meagles, are you serious. matt ryan is terrible. tebow for heisman.

also, hi wicked.

also, unless anyone can think of a way to programmatically stop PGAs and Ryan implements it, PGAs will not go away and any rankings will be tainted* by them.

*if you consider them to be a form of cheating

i don't see how PGA is cheating seeing as there's no rule against it.

saying that PGA is cheating is like saying the trucebreaking is cheating. or, in the old days, attacking while flagged.

that's not cheating. it might be shitty behavior, but it's not cheating.

the meta-game was the funnest part of kdice. since i generally have sucked or not had time to play a lot i never got to enjoy it much, but it was the best part of this.

having a tool, like skrum's, to measure pga from the historical record would have been a much better (and much more interesting) way to go to provide a balance against PGA.

every change that makes the game "more fair for everyone" also makes the game more about random chance and thus less fun. if i wanted a game that's all chance with no human element i would sit in a corner and flip a coin all day long.

For everyone, on either side, this is just a game. It doesn't matter how a person reached their spot, or if they are included on the "all time" list, what matters are the results and the interactions between the players, that's it.

Before anyone else decides to add their two cents: Zosod gained 2500 and Rnd gained 3000 the final week to both overtake me in September, when I held not only a 1500 point lead going into the final week, but both Zosod and Rnd were below 2000. I ended up losing not only the monthly title, but numerous friendships over what happened leading to and soon after Oct 1st. Bottom line, doesn't change my 3rd place finish.

"It's like that, and that's the way it is"

First of all there is no need to cool off or anything. This is a calm and rational discussion/debate. Simply put cheating should not be allowed or tolerated. I do not see how anyone can really argue agains that.

" It doesn't matter how a person reached their spot."

Now if ranks/spots do not matter at all and are pretty much irrelevant then above statement is true. However if this is the case then why to have rankings at all?

People seems to think that having high rank at kdice means that the person is skilled at this game. With this comes a problem. A rank has to have real substance behind it.

so lets look at your statement again

" It doesn't matter how a person reached their spot."

Actually that really matters. If a person reached his spot/rank by being skilled (meaning playing fair and without cheating) he deserves his spot and respect. This person reached his spot/rank by actually being good and better than most at this game.

Now the opposite is ofcourse reaching high spot/rank by means that are by large concidered cheating. Anyone and even the most skilless noobs can reah high spot/rank just by cheating. A rank achieved by cheating has no substance behind it. There is no skill behind it and the player can not be concidered to be good or anything special at all. Such rank means absolutly nothing. Again that player does not deserve any respect and he is not good and skilled at kdice.

"what matters are the results "

Yes results do matter but it also matter how results are gotten. Respect does not come automatically with rank. For example Intergral may be ranked high but he gets no respect whatsoever. He is a known cheater and what he has "achieved" is nothing special. Anyone can do the same by cheating like he has done. Most people outside his "clan" seems to think that he is just a public joke.

Can't Napolean and Snowball just get along in building the perfect game?

@ RNDbot1:

right... you are worst than bot4, but he´s a silent guy and you are pretty funny, so, even with the risk of being backstabbed again, I'll keep kicking asses with you.

@ +GOLDIKE+/kdicefreak:

Take a rest on your hard work of accusing the others and try to play this game, it's fairly fun. Trust me.

1. rnd – Social manipulation, the advent of pga, three accounts in the top 25, started what essentially became a war. While he has become the poster of pga, he is one of the best players. Intimidating as hell, and he’d go after you with a vengeance. He is a pillar of kdice, and deserves the top spot just because of how he shaped the game.

2. X LUCK X – The arch-enemy of rnd. He was maybe the best strategist since Grun, and was one of the most well liked at the tables. “Heh.”

3. CoMik – Perhaps only 10 people still remember who this guy was, but if anything he was the rnd of old. Despite having a 1300 elo for the better part of 2007 he made appearances on the 2k tables. He deserves the to be in the top three.

4. integral – He was there at the beginning, he’s here now. Only one of two players in the modern era to break 2400 elo, he also held the lowest elo at one point.

5. Wicked! – Similar to CoMik, she rarely plays anymore, but she still is great at the game. Her stats from February remain some of the best of all time, and I think that Skrum could back me up on this, but her stats are unparalled.

6. Grun – Read Monte’s post.

7. Mikeypoo – Sheer brute force. This guy played more games than anyone but rnd. The month he won he earned just by playing the most games. He knew more the inner workings of kdice than anyone else.

8. Montecarlo – For someone who can only play while he’s at work he’s pretty high up every month. Good choice with the Playstation dude…

9. Dasfury – Maybe the best guy to never win. Until he won. Plus he was willing to help teach people how to play on the lower tables

10. Panzer – Umm…you don’t attack Panzer. Ever.
