did anybody else notice the alltime top ten?

on the afternoon of december 1, i logged on to kdice.com, and was taken to a page that showed december's current top ten along with the alltime top ten. everything seemed okay until i realized the most controversial name of kdice was missing. alltime number 1 was X LUCK X... who if i remember right from last time, should be alltime number 2 behind....

rnd seems to have been disappeared by the authorities of kdice. all his domination seems to have been farmed away instantly. i mean, i guess we all know he was never that good. he just played 1200 games a month, thats all.

kdicefreak:

I did a writeup on Player J (Big Jumblies) as a test of my TASM (Test Against Selected Modulus). As J's goal was obvious, and beneficial to others, it would be natural for others to "help" him without any implicit or explicit agreement. I "helped" him myself.

Well, monte, thanks for the details. I actually did not know the whole scheme rnd had! I was absent for the most part/was totally unaware/ not even playing at those tables.

All of you detractors out there, here's my argument supporting that rnd was cheating:
1) He completely manipulated the social aspect of it, the way monte is saying so. My definition of REAL cheating and not just finding a loop hole is when you do something to gain an extreme advantage that isn't available to every player.
Yes everyone could have their own little group to run around and win games with. But most are just casual players or don't try to involve themselves that much. Some become acquainted but don't go as far as creating an elaborate cabal to rule the game.

It's silly to ignore the impact that Ryan has had on this game. Removing a record of him in the game is turning a blind eye.

Check out the top 25. They're all up there because they manipulate the social aspect of the game. I doubt that any player since February has made that list without some kind of organized system.

I think a pre-elo era top 10 would be good as well. Funk shouldn't be forgotten.

Well since I think I've earned the hate of a few people getting to 4th last month (which is stupid) I'm going to go ahead and kinda side with Ryan on this one.

He's trying to make this game fun and fair for everyone playing. While forming massive pregame truces is to some extent an amazing strategy, it can ruin the game for others. I don't think there needs to be a written rule in the same way there's no written rule about taking a piss on your boss's desk, you're still getting fired.

Would rather not see him banned, as others have said he was fun to play with, but Ryan's doing the best he can. Giving people trophies who have advantages that others didn't have doesn't make much sense either.

If you want to play with friends I'd suggest Ryan make a version that allows you to team up, which I think could be really fun. Until then, win by yourself!

Point of fact; I wasn't the first person that won with the help of friends, and I wasn't the last. In fact, you'd be hard pressed to find a winner, maybe even a top 10 placer, who has ever gotten there alone. I may have had more, devoted, better, or more manipulated friends -- depending on who you talk to; but to say that I had an advantage that others didn't is simply out of order.

It's very understandable that Ryan wants to sell this game into the 'casual play' space -- thats the hot trend, that's where the money is -- good for him.

Unfortunate, though, for a vast array of players who found more in KDice than a casual game. As I've said before, to many people KDice was a bigger world than Ryan ever imagined (or wanted) -- the creation bigger than the creator. For those people, the addicted ones, that keep this game running by playing day in and day out -- casual is a foreign word.

Because some people choose to run a race with one leg, should we all hop on one foot also?

I dont get the connection with MARION JONES
Did all the winners in the olympics use steroids and she was singled out? Because I'm pretty sure the top 25 of kdice for each and every month used social skills to get there. I don't remember ever seeing one of the trash talkers whose main goal is to offend everyone at the table make it to the top 25.
