at 2:20 PM, Sunday September 2, 2007 EDT The new version rocks. Everyone is hating because its fair. But to the zeros not flagging, thats something that needs to be worked on. I think we should be able to vote someone out, but make it so you cant vote out first or second etc..

at 5:03 PM, Sunday September 2, 2007 EDT a major pain in the back, is related to flagging. previously we could flag, and the second or third best player could sit there, while the lesser players either flagged, or decimated. Now, you get the last place when you flag. And people don't understand, I flagged you. The second best player with 6 full stacks then reduces to nothing, and becomes the last, other player with 3 dice stack becomes fourth and so forth.
If there were also a flag, or an option, actual in game option to truce, or surrender to a player, that'd be sweet. |

at 5:08 PM, Sunday September 2, 2007 EDT I played another game on a 10 table, and that did help a lot, but it's still boring, once you're down to the last 3 players the people in 2nd/3rd are strongly encouraged to flag immediately, which is no fun.
I think decalotus2 said it best. |

at 6:59 PM, Sunday September 2, 2007 EDT Ok, this seems to be like a reoccuring dream/nightmare that most players (at present) seem to be getting.
If you find yourself in a situation where you are on opposite sides of the board to a player who clearly "should" finish a rank below you, but you are unable to connect to the player to assimilate them - forget about it. The new system rewards domination, aggression and movement. By sitting still, doing a hide or buttering up, the player will lose points dramatically faster that the player who doesn't. Finish 3rd, take X more points than 2nd and giggle - this is why, in part, the new set-up is fairer. Fortune favours the brave. Bru ;) |

at 7:19 PM, Sunday September 2, 2007 EDT Add me to the list of grouchy players. I tried this system on the test server, and didn't like it very much. Now that it's live I like it less.
The old system had a rhythm to it, and a social dynamic. I'm not a massive risk taker, so I typically played conservatively in the early rounds, hovered near 5th place, and then hit my stride as the risk takers flamed out. Going from last to 2nd wasn't at all uncommon for me, and it was fun. Now if you aren't an early risk taker, there doesn't seem to be much reason to play. Advance or die, every round. I'm not going to be rude or ungrateful. I get to play this for free, and it's been a blast. I appreciate the time and effort put into it. But new scoring system + a bunch of new badges on Kongregate = me not spending much time here. ~Ben |
