Ryan's made his opinion of team games very clear. To continue harassing him when he's made the call is becoming disrespectful, and I know none of you mean to come out and be like that to kdice's inventor...at least, I hope not. |

at 5:32 AM, Wednesday July 18, 2007 EDT I love the idea of a monthly reset, gpokr is great with it and it will be here too.
Although adam.flash raises a good point - the 2000 may be out of reach in only one months play. Instead of changing the Elo, perhaps bringing the tables closer together ie. 1500, 1600, 1700, 1800 would allow those with the ability that month to rise above the pack. |

at 8:28 AM, Wednesday July 18, 2007 EDT just to clear two things up:
1. Forcing team play is one step away from pga's and not nice for other players. however I think the concept is a good idea. The problem is that im in no position to implement this anytime soon. I have many performance improvements that need to be done first along with fixing forums and stats, and then I need to make an adjustment to scoring. Team play is something I can't consider for a while, (and I have said this many times). Let's put this idea on hibernate mode for a while. 2. Sounds like mentioning changing scores gets people thinking what if so I'll provide some more info. The model that I'll test for scoring will be like Gpokr. There will be no ELO, only points. There will be 50/200/2000/5000 point tables. The game point adjustments will seem very similar to ELO so game strategy will stay the same. For example you'd gain 20-50 points for winning a game and loose 20-30 points for loosing. The difference from ELO is that point adjustments won't be relative to others score. Insted of ELO minimum tables there will be point minimum tables. At higher tables the amounts of points gained or lost is greater. For example at a 5000 table you could gain or loose up to 5000 points per game. I'm going to post the score idea as a different thread because this thread needs to go away. Please post any comments on the other thread. |
