ryan seemed to have abandoned us. is he too busy developing other games? is he too busy entertaining advertisers? or is he too busy designing the new look for kdice?

there are lots of problems (listed below) with kdice lately…..ryan, please please take a look at them…….or at least let us know you will…..please

1. lag (it’s been ther forever)
2. failure table callback (on both kdice and gpokr)
3. failure to end turn
4. the thread bug
5. the score not registering bug
6. roll (and cards) does not seem to be random…..as others have pointed out, you pretty much have a great chance losing a 5v4 attack

kdice is dying…….please help…..i love this game……

They're all problems but I don't see why you say kdice is dying:

1. I haven't had any lag problems since Easter and use various connections, I think most of the severe lag problems can be fixed by the user? Because I used to have crippling lag but changed my wires and browsers around.

2. I believe failure table callback is usually when you try to load a broken table or need to refresh. Not much of a problem, more of a helpful message to me.

3. I don't know failure to end turn unless it's the one where you re-enter the game after lagging out and then can't move. That only lasts one round though, I must be thinking of something else sorry.

4. The forums aren't really important and it's not a bad problem if people don't misuse it, if people misuse it then why bother having forums for them?

5. That one should be fixed if possible o_O
It's when you have 2100+ elo and get 1st place but no points right?

6. The wiki stats say 5v4 is only 71.8% so maybe it just looks like it's not random?

There's a few 4v3 rolls (74.3%) in every game so just keep track of those and after say 30 or 100 see how the percentage compares. That's the easy way to check it out since it's been five months now and no one's bothered to research.

Kdice isn't dying. When I joined end of March there was less than 30,000 people. Now its at 50,000.

Lag was a problem when I was on a crappy internet connection, I've been on a good one for 3 weeks and haven't lagged at all. Failure to get table call back, tables break, sorry there 20 more to play on. Failure to end turn, I used to get this when I lagged out. The thread bug? Everyone knows about it, just don't do it. The score not registering, while it has never happened to me, I can imagine it sucks but if it is only once in awhile is it that big a deal? You'll win another game.

And finally the rolls. Dice have 6 sides, if you roll a few ones, chances are you arent winning. One die advantage isn't that big. I lose +2 battles all the time, it happens.

I don't mean to lash out on you personally, just everyone in general complaining about a free game. A free game, we pay nothing for it. Sure I dislike the fact that the 1900/2000 tables fluctuate a lot but, I get over it. It seems like everyone else just likes to complain about stuff.

What would you do if Ryan never made this game?

Well, Know_it_all, I too disagree with you. But, there are problems with this site that you have mentioned, and they should be addressed and/or evaluated at some point. I'm not going to list out anything, but I will give my view on some of your issues with the game, and my own beliefs(/complaints).

First of all, the lag, I've had no problems with, but, I don't know much tech crap about computers and the internet. Next, though, the call back isn't that detrimental, and, the failure to end turn, if it sounds anything like what I encounter, isn't kdice. My internet connection spazzes sometimes, and just funks out.

The thread bug may be linked to the ideas thing where they try to condense the ideas that sound the same. I've also never encountered the score bug, but that so far seems to be the only problem Ryan should address.

Ahhh, the final item is your idea that there is no randomness. I agree with you. BUT, only in the respect that yes, I have noticed a pattern in so called "luck". AND, all of you out there who believe it's the amount of times we remember stuff happening, you're wrong. Too many times I've noticed a shift in difficulty to win rolls, but, other than that, there is an even greater change, that I think was purposefully implemented:

Ever notice that always ONE person gets at least a 6 or a 7 after the first or second rounds? Those used to be luxuries, and rare. Now, I can predict such an event. This adds to the other complaint I have, and that is the starts.

I play well with a good, strong start. However, recently, I've noticed that I always get between a rock and a hard place with my beginning game. And, even before then, anyone can agree they have begun games where they need to take a plane to get to the other side of the board to connect any territories.

This causes an uneven start, and has prompted me to even play a game, notice how bad/good people start, and sit in the bad places, since, bad starts never hit the same spot twice, because it needs to switch up.

I've heard of the law of independent events and such, but, skill must come in somewhere, other than finding a safe hiding spot from an early 8 stack. Skill is also needed to command your good luck, but, I should be able to do well in most games, considering my experience, (and others who have come and stayed before me)

I feel that experience only serves as a resource when I get frustrated at someone who makes an unexpected/dumb move.

I want to ask Ryan about this one: I don't see any point in having soooo much experience, played sooooooooooooo many hours of this game, and only to be fucked every time I play because I get screwed by "luck"
