Alright, time for official nicknames for dicestacks. People give suggestions then at the end we pick the best ones.
here are my suggestions # of dice - that stacks nickname 1 - nugget 2 - buckteeth 3 - tripwire 4 - toothpick 5 - L 6 - foam hand (think we're #1 one) 7 - good enough 8 - mallot Example: (of something you could hear in the chatbox) Red attacks yellow 24/48, 24/42 HAHA! my good enough broke your mallot or someone's 4 stack loses to a 2 stack woot, my buckteeth snapped that toothpick The possibilities are mindboggling (<--- that one's for you hart) Take it away! |

I think you have the winner for an 8 stack. I humbly withdraw Conan, and believe that because nothing can beat Chuck Norris (even in a discussion thread), the competition for naming an 8 stack is over. |

at 9:39 PM, Tuesday February 20, 2007 EST Punto, doublet, trit, tetris, cinqer, smokestack, chip, columns.
This would be much cooler going up to 16. 1-up, digits, elves, tre-towers, malas, throne, big chip, cubit. And since I like to be long-winded: Punto - Spanish influences, 'point'. Doublet - Well, duh. Trit - A single number (0, 1 or 2) in base-3, akin to bits, hexits, and digits. Tetris - Four lines at once, baby. Cinqer - French infulence, 'five'. Also, I was thinking about a ship sinking, a ship with a Smokestack - I think Ryan hit the mark there. Chip - The full stack, with a chip taken out of it. Columns - *shrug* Two columns of dice. ~~~ 1-Up - Mario, obviously. One up from the normal cap. Digits - As in our fingers (or toes), numbering ten. Elves - This one took me a bit. German influence; elf, as in eleven. Tres-towers - The best way I could convey three stacks. Tres, as three in card games. Malas - Spanish influence, 'bad', as in bad luck, 13 and all... Throne - I'd like this one improved, but I can see a little guy sitting in the niche the two missing dice leave. Big Chip - See seven, 'Chip'. Cubit - So it's -really- not a cube, it makes me think of one, and it's the closet we get. |
