2. The new point system mostly punishes unlucky people 3. The rolls are bizzare lately It is a compound problem with most of it being related to the dice stacks and territory setup at the beginning. |

http://aplayr.com/kdice/kdice/forum/topics/update%3A%20less%20even%20starts/ The rolls in the new rating system are the same as the old. Whats the point of talking about old vs new anyway, we already did this a week ago and came to a conclusion. Things need to move forward. Most of the complaints stem from a natural fear of change. We predicted that a certain percentage of people would feel this. I apologize for this but it has to happen. |

I think what people really complain in the old one system they used to ally with a strong player, sit there with 1 or 2 countries and finish 2nd, and call this a good playing. I and a lot of others are quite happy with it, that this behaviour is no longer rewarded. The score now much better reflects your skill getting the whole board. Instead of the old one reflected your skill to quickly hide behind the right person. |

at 11:41 AM, Thursday February 15, 2007 EST The one thing I don't like about the new system is the many many suicide runs that occur. If you don't follow up a suicide run with your own you won't get the 'dominance' points of the originial suicide runner.
If you do sweep up after the suicide runner it leaves you over-exposed to another strong opponent. Suicide runners generally run right through your middle as they just don't care and you really have no other choice than to mop up the mess they leave thus making you very weak. |

at 11:52 AM, Thursday February 15, 2007 EST I just saw the same person in the same game lose one 8v5 two 8v6s a 7v6 and a 7v5.
The rolls are messed. |

They are getting boring. |

at 3:05 PM, Thursday February 15, 2007 EST The rolls are so completely out of whack. I don't know how many advantaged rolls I've lost today, but there really is no advantage it seems to attempting a roll unless it's 8 vs 1.
I really miss the old style as well. I might just wait a couple of weeks to see if it gets switched back. :) |

at 3:57 PM, Thursday February 15, 2007 EST I've been playing for a long time Fuzzy Cat and understand the randomness fairly well. Just really seems as though an extremely large quantity of rolls are 'off' ever since the scoring change. Can't expain it really, maybe it's just not my week? Not complaining at all about randomness as that's part of the game obviously. Just seems incredibly more random since the scoring change. :)
