Friends and pre-game alliances.

Today the people are exciting with the new scoring system, so this thread should be a bit lack of timing.

Kdice is a social game and making friends is a nice side-effect of the game.

But sometimes a grup of friends can act like pre-game alliances. Old and experienced players react with anger o disdain against those noobs who accord pre-game alliances, but on the table the same players decides allies and targets according to friendship criteria. Sometimes, three or four players attacks jointly a fifth only for the mob pleasure of to drive out the stranger one.

For example, some minutes ago and with no apparent reason, three players, qwertqwert,
montecarlo and tharris7 attacks me. I was no the strongest nor the weakest. When I ask for the reason, they uses the mute function. When I was defeated, they surrender immediately.

Of course, there is some difficult to establish rules, game mechanism or ethical laws about friendship or personal charm, but I see often this behaviour, mainly in the 1900 tables.

While Montecarlo is friendly guy to play with I have noticed a strong pattern of pre game alliances, and strange truces.

With three games played, Mailroom Sasquatch? I doubt that. I am not defending montecarlo though.

well, the thing with the 1900 rooms is that (talking about the previous beta) after a while, inevitably, you got to know people up there

If you play often enough you would eventually keep seeing the same faces (assuming you could play 50+ games and stick around). There's no way around it that you get to know some people, make friends etc.
(and this happens in 1700 rooms, too, you see the same faces after a while)

That said, I like algios but Ill kill em just as soon as I kill anyone else :)

maybe even sooner!

well, either you can't delete comments, or the players I've posted warnings about on their pages haven't figured out how.

all i will say i have played many games against montecarlo but never noticed any pre game truce, just friendly banter

yes there is a good friendship from the old 1900 tables but i will still attack friends the same as i expect friends to attack me

Ok, CURB-STOMPER/Hutchy just backstabbed on me. Makes your word less trustworthy.

Hey Grun I agree, sometimes makes fun taking you out sooner. ;)

Ok, to make my recounted "pre-game alliance" opinion short and simple, see my devised equation:

Relatives, personal friends/ well acquainted kdice friends + pre-alliance just b/c of friends sake = good, clean fun

Individuals who need that "extra" way to get up in kdice + scheming, point squandering pre-alliance = corrupt, unfair diplomacy and tactics

I hope that is understandable. "there's my $0.02" -Montecarlo

I dont see why people make a big deal about not killing friends. If you were playing with a friend would you just kill him? Do you not even have friends so you are jealous? what is it? there are people woywob, remco, assholemagnet and a few other than just follow people around that play with friends and start yelling "CAUTION these two people have an alliance!!!!" like they have nothing better to do. Grow up, leave your houses and meet some people.
